Its already told thousand time that China back stabbed India. India was under Gandhian rule of 'peaceful' relation with neighbors. India never expected China will attack India. But the Chinese got a taste of their own tactics in later border skirmishes. 1962 was a wake up call for peace loving Nehru and India. We seen what India did in all the wars after that.

India lost the 1962 war purely based on the mismanagement of strategic assets/ ignorance of the political class dictating suicidal moves to the army.

The wrong perception of India that use of air power could escalate the conflict was ignorance at best when China pushed its forces with impunity.

Defeat is the best teacher and India learnt from this failure. Whether India makes the report public or not, a lot of retrospective reports exist in public domain and it is almost certain, any misadventure now will result in large scale losses on both sides that will derail the growth stories for decades to come.

So my dear Chinese, chest thumping is good and I will give you the credit for 1962 in terms of war and media management. Continue to expect 2012 same as 1962 at your own peril.

the good thing which happened out of 1962 is that india no longer trusts china, and since the war india started investing in its defence forces. china attcked once and it no longer can, cos they are well aware that unlike 1962 india is fully prepared for any eventuality, we in india dont even consider pakistan to be a threat, but china is considered to be one. after 1962, all the other skirmishes were dealt with proper reply... now china is just a barking dog reminding every time that they well repeat history... ha... what a joke...

It was India that was one the first countries to have friendly relations with the pariah state of Communist China, it was India who formulated the principles of Panchsheel, it was China who threw all the goodwill away by stabbing India in the back.

you are right China is also not what it was in 1962...but the difference is

India has learnt that they can't trust China..so no question of getting bakstabbed.

Dont really know about the military might of both he countries at that time,but now If there is a repeat of 1962..then dont want to say who will win and who will loose....but equal price will be paid by both the countries...unlike 62 where India lost more.

IS what Pakistan doing on Kashmir issue. Since China is buddy of Pakistan, why not help them to Take over Kashmir?
