In the past, I have seen a video of Shaheen-1 missile testing in which footage of hitting on a target was shown in television.

Does anyone have such video?

Did the NK's have a 2500km solid fuel missile when Pakistan tested the Shaheen II?
Pakistan has definitely improved the existing system. But as it was mentioned by Benazir Bhutto, as well as by Musharraf in his book, the missile technology was bought from the N-Korea.

My understanding was that referred to the 1500 km liquid fueled Ghauri, possibly based on the Nodong.

The Shaheen II had no equivalents at the time of testing in either NK or China. There are arguments that the S-II was developed out of the M-11 800 km missile - but that is a huge enough improvement to qualify as a completely new missile, indicating Pakistan had perhaps gotten a good handle on the R&D and technology.

in order to understand the way the pakistani system has worked so far,you have to agree that, we have bought off the shelf technology to start off as a base. We have then developed it further based on concepts standardized internationally. We are not in the habit of reinventing the wheel and neither do we have the resources for it. However, to say that everything that we have is a copy is wrong . Conversely, to say that we have done all of this without some help is also wrong. We have the example of the Cruise missile, based on the American cruise missiles, but still at least reverse engineered by PAkistan. Then from there we have gone on and developed Raad airborne cruise missile and Insha Allah, eventually a naval based and Submarine launched cruise missile. So the truth lies somewhere in between the two arguments. However, whatever you say you have to salute the ingenious scientists of pakistan who have produced results on meagre budgets.

I believe with the ASFC carrying out tests (instead of just the scientists) the missile was operationally deployed with the PA.

Pakistan conducts back-to-back tests of nuclear-capable missile

Islamabad, April 21 (DPA) Pakistan Monday successfully test-fired its longest-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile for the second time in three days. The test validated the operational readiness of a strategic missile group equipped with Hatf-VI (Shaheen-2) missiles, which can carry both nuclear and conventional warheads up to a distance of 2,000 km, the military added.

The launch conducted at an undisclosed location by the army’s Strategic Force Command “marked the culmination of a field-training exercise,” a defence statement said.

The launch was witnessed by naval chief Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir and other senior military officers, scientists and engineers of strategic organizations, the statement said.

Pakistan’s missile development programme is aimed mainly at what it calls maintaining strategic balance with its nuclear-armed rival India.

The previous test launch of the Shaheen-2 was carried out Saturday.

Ghauri-I was developed from NK's missile!! But shaheen is ours!!

That's Ghauri, copied from NK's Nodong. Totally different technology set. Almost as different in engineering terms as making a train is from making a car. Yes they both stop and go but...

Solid and liquid fueled rockets behave differently. They need a different manufacturing infrastructure, different firing preparations, they fly somewhat different paths and times. Empty themselves of fues differently as they go. Use very different materials. Yet they both may follow ballistic trajectories and carry a present at the pointy end.

So when you talk of 'missile technology' care to add an adjective please.

DPRK never had large solid motor manuf. capability for BMs untill much later we tested the Shaheens, and their's some rather insignificant SRBM.

Probably because the technology was not indegenius, it was bought from the North Korea.

this is not the point i guess,,

we are self sufficient in this feild and it may not be a ood option on spending money on foreign assistance, joint production can be an option but we must keep the cruise missilies and SAMz on top of this list!! we surely need to work on SAM and Cruise missile able to be launched from ship and submarines for this we may seek for a joint venture but the ballastic missile field we are good enough!

Yes we have 1000 Koreans working in Pakistan and 5000 Pakistanis working in Korea! :hitwall:

Do you have prof of your troll?

Musharraf, also mentioned in his book that Indian nuclear enrichment technology is copy of Pakistani technology.. all thanks to the black market of shameless A.Q.Khan.

.
The liquied fueled tech was bought by NK out of egoism of AQ Khan to compete with NESCOM.
The solid fueled technology was developed from SLV project headed by team of Polish engineers rescued during the cold war and who founded SUPARCO.
