They achieve nothing except mayhem in their country. They have limited resources in terms of military. Better to use them against Taliban. But only if someone could make them understand. Pakistan has cleanse large parts from terrorists. These attacks are sad but not detrimental to us. Afghanistan on the other hand has much to loose by sheltering terrorists. They will eat her from inside completely.



Have you seen that area? It is not possible to fence that area at least in near future. There aren't enough resources either to put up a fence there.

ISLAMABAD: At least seven Frontier Corps personnel were killed as a checkpost northeast of South Waziristan's Angoor Adda came under fire Tuesday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

"The terrorists opened heavy fire from across the Pak-Afghan border early on Tuesday," the ISPR said.

We should do operation inside border area of Pakistan and Afghanistan.. Use our drones and other artillery to retaliate with full strength..Use our sources to track them in Afghanistan...Afghan govt is just shouting if anything happened but their lip got sealed in this case...

However posting death of these soldiers when you and I know they are drawing pleasure behind the facade of reporting is halal? Is this not in bad form and far worse then anything I post? These men have families and don't deserve Indian's salivating over their deaths and that on a Pakistani defence forum?

And on topic the FC needs lot more investment in training and equipment. Standards must be brought up to regular army. FC face the same danger as PA. They take the same bullets as PA. They bleed like PA.

Most places? No. Only fencing valley routes will cost multi million dollars. Finance ministry doesn't have that money. Fencing complete Afghan border is a multi billion dollars job. Posts like the one that came under attack are built from trenches, stones, mud and wood mostly. These are not well engineered military strongholds. And FC not Army mans them.

Besides you can't really stop attacks by fencing. Working boundary with India is fenced but does it stop attacks? What good is fence when someone is firing RPGs, mortars and machine guns sitting across the fence?

O bhai, im From AJK and ours is a highly mountainous area, Even in LOC indians have build fences and r building even more.

Agreed. However the strongpoints can be designed to be more robust and be able to afford better protection then those "stone and sticks" contraptions that are used at present.

WW2 German bunker - This would take smalls arms or RPG fire easily.

Fencing is only partly a solution when it comes to Afghanistan. There are countless tunnels across the border already that will render the fencing useless

In my opinion we should persuade (make) the Afghans man their side of the border if at all they are half serious in controlling the menace (which I am afraid they are NOT)

More appropriate and befitting would be the zero tolerance and massive retaliation policy in the face of any such attack. This might have 2 benefits.

i) Deterring the attackers (if they are state actors)
ii) Pushing the state machinery in action (if they were non state actors)

I think that is already constructed in the AF-Pak area in Baluchistan. A ditch suits the plains mostly and the FATA adjoining Afghanistan is way too rocky and uneven for a ditch to be practical

I'm going through his post history and he does seem to have a larger number of such threads compared to the rest of the Indian community on PDF. If we stop him, which we can, then opens up a can of worms regarding Pakistani posters and the threads they open up on India. The same actions will have to apply.
