Dont worry, i am not confused. I still hold the same view I posted. Religion was and is used to suppress women. It was widely used in India by males to overpower women though in religion texts women is shown as power or shakti. But that mentality is fast changing and infact changed a lot. But can you say the same comfortably about every religion? I for myself cannot say so.

It is a lengthy discussion and needs an appropriate forum. So lets leave it for a suitable forum and I will most happily contribute.

@levina i have spoken to u and know your thinking but here everything with religion gets out of hand and ends up creating anger... which is why i said these posts should not be made... most people agree this is weird and those who do not will never agree...

when did I ask for rape thread in particular? I said any thread that the presenter feels is offensive for women in India.

R word mean Religion? There is only one religion which openly encourage suppressing women at mass scale.

and that is certainly not islam, for islam brought formal divorce rights to the ladies, and the right for them to choose their man, without the bloody consent of their parents.

Selfies are allowed in Islam. It is narrow minded people like Siauw who cause the problems existent in our society. The law against pictures was for a time when people began worshiping the pictures they had taken. That is why the prophet forbade pictures. Now when people do not worship the pictures they take and take pictures of themselves there is no harm in it as it is not for (false) worship.

I blame lack of ijtehad for the failure of the muslim ummah. These mullahs have really led us down. Today there are only two types of mullahs. One are the slaves of the US, Israel and India and the others are terroristic or tyrannic in nature. They forbid cutting of beards which is even allowed to religious Islamic personalities by Allah, they forbid women from going without burka and now taking selfies.

Terroristic and tyrannical ideologies have made the muslim world a mess. They claim they are reactionaries who act because west did so and so but then why don't they take their fight to some god forsaken battlefield in the west. 82-97% of the casualties of terrorist attacks across the world are muslims and exactly because of mullahs such as these.
