What's new

Secularists should 'mend ways or leave country', says PTI lawmaker

So a state should permit and recognise muslims having a hindu wedding ceremony without a Nikkah or a church wedding or any way one deems suitable?

If State practices coercion, then that would be against Islam.

Why not enforce Shariah on yourself after all it's more like guidelines for Muslims.

To be sure, not a single example of a “Shariah compliant” country exists. In fact, the most “Muslim country” in the world is likely America, because America guarantees freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of expression and freedom of thought—all hallmarks of Shariah Law.

Ohhh snap :o: ... US Constitution FTW :usflag:

Which only proves their intelligence.
most of these guys aren't lost they are just misguided or emotionally charged by mullahs i still have hope that we can change them with knowledge and logic.
Oh yeah, that will require an additional 428 Amurekans. :enjoy:
i want to know the reason behind that number

Holy Quran encourages Muslims to be free thinkers. It is not the question of going against Islam. Even if you have to question against Islam for the sake of curiosity, then so be it. GOD encourages the people with curiosity to seek information. Otherwise, how else are you going to discover the truth?

There is the reasons why Islam has produced many scientists in the past that changed the game and gave new face for Golden Age of Islam.

Advice from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH);

Even if you have to go to China to obtain knowledge, then so be it.

Knowledge of any kinds must not be discouraged. It is sign of progression. Those who prohibits knowledge is the sign of ignorance which leads to darkness eventually. Light means knowledge, and ignorance means darkness.

You should read Quran for yourself and understand fully what Allah says about Libertines (free-thinkers in matter of religion) before making such statements.

Free-thinking is not the same as going far to obtain knowledge.

I'm going to open a thread soon where liberals and seculars should join in to form a desired constitution of Pakistan.

Allah says that Libertines are unbelievers.

But as you think Allah encourages free-thinkers, this may also just be a suggestion. Right?

no system is perfect .. and who told you that Islamic System is against secularism ?? and creating new rules and bending are not shirk , read about how new reconciliations Hazrat Omer ibn Khatttab bring to Islamic empire , many of them has no mentioned in Quran/Hadith ..
Allah did not say that put religion into state matters specially when religion itself is divided into no less than 50+ different sects.
Allah gave islam as a complete code of life, islamic law was given by Allah to implement on muslim nations, the caliph was Allahs representative on earth, wth are u talking about, islsm has nothing to do with secularism which is a european phenomina cause christianity was a religion, islam is not a religion, its away of life prescribed by Allah, isls
Marriage? The State should not even force restaurants to close during Ramadan. It is up to the followers to decide when to fast and where to eat, not the State.
It is up to the children to decide whether they want to walk off a roof or not the parents have no say in the matter...

In my opinion, nothing that Jinnah said in the speech you've quoted is against what is taught in Islam. Your thoughts on Jinnah's speech where he said that 'Pakistan should be based on Islamic Socialism'?

May I ask why you may prefer a secular or liberal or liberal secular system over a system based on Shariah/Quranic laws? Does Islam, as per your personal understanding (& not what someone tells you), teaches persecution of minorities and takes away their rights?

Blasphemy laws aside, for this question, what kind of relaxations in the Islamic laws would you like to see in Pakistan, as a liberal? Please be specific and provide reference to countries where such relaxations are in place.
None of the liberals here give very specific and detailed answers when asked this.
No to blood money would be a fine start we need to make our poor strong

Translation by A. J. Arberry: those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines.
