Secular Kolkata,Muslims providing refreshments to hindus participating in the Ram Navami procession

3. Don't beat about the bush any more, simple yes or no. Does the cozy little group I referred to in post #42 influence Indian government functioning or not?

In a democracy EVERYBODY has the right to influence Indian govt. functioning. That is the very essence of a Healthy democracy.

Is that clear enough ?

Nobody is stopping you from influencing the Indian govt. either :cheesy:

Difference being that the said group represents the interests of a particular religious community. And that is a big no-no as far as western secularism is concerned. The state must distance itself from such groups, must not patronise them at any cost.

That being done, please let us know your views on the Indian concept of secularism too.

So ?

You are free to form group that represents the interests of your particular religious community and influence the govt. too.

As long as your group is acting within the bounds of the Law, it is all perfectly acceptable and in fact I encourage it in the name of healthy democracy.

I do not care what "western secularism" say, that is your burden, not mine. I have clearly established my practice as Hindu secularism.

This is the same as Indian secularism i.e. "sarva dharma sambhav".
