No, they count after closing the polling stations. If you haven't voted, you aren't going to. Its a matter of not all the counties have reported yet.

Latest from the Guardian is:
YES: 43.8%
NO: 56.2% with just over half the councils reporting.

150,000 vote margin for No atm. This represents maybe 30% of the voters (smaller councils can count faster). Cities have not reported yet.

Yeah, looks like No will take it. If rural voters were the ones pushing it and city folk were against, this is a dead horse.

Lead is firming up now in favour of NO. Seems there were more silent No voters than compartively vocal Yes guys.

Glassgow reported, slight gain for YES. Still holding at about 150k difference.

Its 9pm where i am, don't India and Pakistan have to go to work about now? :-)

The campaign to keep Scotland in the UK has taken the most votes so far in the Scottish independence referendum, as counting continues across the country.

With 20 out of the 32 council areas having declared, the "No" side is on 55% of the vote, with the "Yes" campaign on 45%.

By 04:50 BST (05:35 BST), the "No" campaign had more than 1,000,000 votes, with "Yes" on just over 833,000.

A total of 1,852,828 votes is needed for victory in the referendum.
