Scotlad is following the Ireland model. So discussing canada and australia isnt relevant here. Scotland isnt a colony on another continent

Canada & Australia are independent countries, however the queen is the same.

That's because Canada and Australia never had independence referendums.

This is what is being said:

"Alex Salmond, the Scottish First Minister, risked controversy by suggesting that the Queen would be proud to reign over an independent Scotland.
Mr Salmond said he wanted the Queen to remain head of state in a separate Scotland “as her ancestors were”, although many Nationalists are republicans who want to get rid of the monarchy."

"The Scottish National Party plans to keep the monarchy allowing Queen Elizabeth II to remain Queen of Scotland just as she is also queen of other British Commonwealth countries such as Canada and Australia."

Definitely a nervous moment for David Cameron too as in case of yes vote he will be remembered as the PM who broke the union..

"Will the queen have to go?

Mr. Salmond, the Scottish National Party leader, thinks Queen of the Scots is a “fantastic title” and has promised fellow Scots that they get to keep Elizabeth II as their head of state, Canadian-style (although future Scottish voters could always change that)."

"This seems to work for Scottish voters, who remain in favor of the monarchy"

Even in case of NO, the UK will be a different nation. All the promises that Westminster gave for a NO are in fact irredeemable. And if Scotland should get those bonuses, Wales as well as Northern Ireland will demand them as well. Westminster is sitting between a a rock and a hard place.

I wish the Scots all the best, may they create a better and social society where everyone can lead a dignified life.

I agree. Even in case of NO i don't see any more devaluation of power to the Scottish people.

Freedom for Scotland. :enjoy:

She'll probably still be the queen of Scotland.

I thought their leaders are saying she won't be. Like the Irish.

I thought their leaders are saying she won't be.

They are all saying she will be though they are not committing to the next in line. Supposedly, she remains very popular & the "YES" campaigners are worried that people may actually vote "NO" if they worry about her not being there.

Scotland should join the Eurasian Union once it gains independence. Give nato a taste of its own medicine. Imagine Eurasian militariy bases stationed in the North Sea or in Glasgow. S400s and Iskanders. And a rapid reaction force of 50000 troops. Hahahaha.

And they dont need the pound. For international trade and servicing debt SDRs, yuans and roubles. And for their internal market they can use a Scottish pound or just stick with the english pound. Then take away decrepit englands seat at the security council and at the imf and give it to India.
You are such a kid.
