Most of the afghans are actually living inside Pakistan, if you ever visit Pakistan you may encounter afghan in ever nook and corner, they have totally blended inside our society and have acquired Pakistani citizen ship. Most of the employees and friends of my uncle are actually afghans. And yes there could be afghans in india too but anyway its not the topic.

Oh wait bro did you just said we Pakistanis wants to seek refugee in India. :-D


No sir i dont need to take any shelter inside india or in anyother country, and i shouldnt be afraid of ISI either because i am not involved in any terrorists activity. Even if i was a terrorists or being accused even then i wouldnt have came to india. I would have rather chosen death in my own country instead of living in india.

No thats totally wrong and baseless accusation, we have evacuated and cleared the area long before launching the operation. Our IDPs have been migrated to many other places of Pakistan even in the capital, Islamabad.
These refugees are treated with properly and are given each and every basic necessities.
The reason why these taliban are whining is because of fact that their dens have been destroyed by our PAF. And they are all desperate and frustrated. All of their accusations are baseless.
And all of the IDPs are all safe and will soon return to their homes after the operation is completed and the area is rehabilitated.

Thats actually the exaggerated value, yes i admit few of bengalis did went there in india but 10 million is very big number to be true. If this was really the case then india would have been the largest refugee host of the world. But the reality is totally opposite to this.

They are not unskilled immigrants, they should be given refugee status and allowed to work and be given the same opportunities as our own medical graduates.

Hope they can make a successful career here, and maybe return to Iraq when it's safe to do so and continue on as doctors in their own country.

Sorry but MCI(Medical Council of India) doesn't work that way,They can at most be a Observer in a hospital,To become a doctor(as in this case they completed MBBS in ukraine) and get a License to practise in India as a Doctor, they have to pass Screening test conducted by MCI.
That test can only be taken by Citizens of India.Not Refugees.

MCI doesn't even allow Indians who studied outside India to practice without passing the Screening test, then Refugees are out of the picture completely.

Their choice of taking shelter i.e. Aligarh seems strange known for strong Muslim radicalization .
Maybe I'm being paranoid but IB should do a thorough background check on these two.
The only positive point I am seeing is that they are taking the legal route. Though the most beautiful flower can be poisonous.

No worries, the IB is on top of this for sure, they and R&AW maintain an extensive presence in that part of the world and have robust ties with the Iraqi agencies.

Lebanon= 40000 iraqi refugees
Egypt= 150000 iraqi refugees
Sweden= 79200 iraqi refugees
US= 7000 iraqi refugees

meanwhile in india = only 2 iraqi refugees are seeking shelter

There are many unregistered iraqis in Pakistan. Most of them have now acquired Pakistani citizenship. ANd again it doesnt matter, they were after all only two iraqis which chosen to opt for india.

Frightened Iraqis flock to Delhi to escape IS misery

Delhi has become the latest destination for a large number of Iraqis who have managed to escape the dreaded Islamic State (IS) terrorists in their home country.

A large section of these Iraqis are applying to the office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Delhi, seeking ‘refugee’ status.

According to an estimate, about 20,000 Iraqis have arrived in India since June 2014 and most of them have claimed that they managed to escape the monstrosity of the Islamic State.

Delhi is the only other Indian city, besides Chennai, where the UNHCR has an office. These Iraqis are mostly coming from IS-occupied Mosul, Saladin, Tikrit and Kirkuk.

Several others have come from cities which are still controlled by the Iraqi government, but the terror of IS runs deep.

Besides these people who are coming to Delhi, several Iraqi students at various universities of Delhi-NCR are also stuck in India. Many of them have applied to the UNHCR, even as they are making arrangements to bring over their families from Iraq.

UNHCR Chief of Mission Dominik Bartsch said: “Earlier, about one or two Iraqis would come to us in a month, seeking ‘refugee’ status. Now the trickle has turned into a steady stream of 20 to 30 and all of them are saying that they have been running away from the Islamic State.”

Ahmed Yaseen Muhi, 31, a resident of Noida, runs a website for Iraqis in Delhi. He said: “Till about October 2014, there were only seven members on the website, including myself. The queries ranged from tourist and medical facilities to universities in Delhi. Since then the membership has shot up to 3,910 and the queries now only relate to rented accommodations in the city and the location of the UNHCR office. ”

Ahmed, a PhD scholar from JNU, barely saved his life from the militants himself when he fled Baghdad in March 2014.

“I had gone back after I finished my studies here, but the militants came knocking at my door asking if I am a Shia or a Sunni. I had to run away with my wife and my child, and come back to India.”

He is now working as a translator at a private hospital in the city.
