For the longest time Pakistan has struggled to become more tolerant and now that we're making significant gains, our neighbor on the other side of the border has fallen victim to religious extremism.....It's not even fair.

Not exactly buddy. I cannot see any progress. If I see, Karachi was more better in 1970's than its now.
In India, people's attitude are lot better now than in 1970's. The hardcore Hinduvta reaction in India (a small percentage) is a result of not following "secularism". Decades of minority pleasing even against the wishes of enlightened Muslims was the reason for this reaction. Some people are suddenly blaming BJP for the laws they "correctly" implement. Secularism is separation of church and state, and it was not exactly that happened in India.

but focus on these small matters. they are not demanding a different state for them, just some girls asked you to lift ban on hijab for muslims girls.

There is no ban of wearing anything in India. They can wear Bikini to Burka whatever they want. The ban is in exam to prevent theft. If somebody is wearing a burka how supervisor can know whether he is correct person or not. Burka can not allowed in examination hall.

5 years back, the Photo for females in Pakistan National identity card is optional. it's on them. but due to security issues after 9/11 and Saudia Arabia Hajj requirements photo on CNIC and Passport is compulsory. but change of this law is due to some other country rules "KSA, USA etc" ,, but the dress code is simply and purely india's internal matter. so you CAN customize it on your well. so it's better to consider your 14.5% of population while customizing a rule.

its not possible to compromise with core tenet of your religion,is it?
I mean will pakistanis consider 'there is other god than allah and there might be some other prophets after muhammed'? no matter what KSA or USA wants you to do.
If you are willing to compromise for passport why cant you for 3 hours exam? its not like you have to abide by it everyday. and its only for few who are attending exams not 14% of population.

bro. i read and understand each and evey word of the op. Re-read my posts no one of my post mention that you guyz banned muslim dress code in india. each and evey post is based on this "test dress code" .. thanks

I do not know what Hijab is but Sc can not ban anything withot any reason. Our Judiciaries are best i the world.

if covering whole body of woman is 'central' to your religion, I dont see how we can pacify all muslims. You are just suggesting what you personally are okey with, but sizable number of muslims may not. what about them?

yes. it is. but in pakistan we have different gates for males and females in examination or test halls. on female gate ladies constibles are stationed who check face and roll number slip of each candidate.
is there any such system in india "separate gate system" ?? just asking

the already wear shalwar qameez which cover there below body. so no need of burka. and i think much of us will be ok with that. Hijab will be needed to cover there head and hairs plus neck. for recognizing matter , a separate gate for females stationing ladies Shapatan (constables) for checking and conformation will be perfect. as we have such rules in Pakistan and everything is going smoothly even our mullah's have no issue with that.

But banning long sleeves? That is really stupid. Not done even in Western countries.

But hey, their country their rules. And in India being an extremist hindu country, minorities living there should not expect any special treatment.
