Saudi ‘seeking Pakistan arms for Syrian rebels’

Dear Pakistanis, please don't sent arms to Saudis. They will ruin your country first then they will think about another Muslim country.

Thanks for your advice. Our strategic and business interests are in accord with our collective moral standing on Syria. Pakistan cannot remain indifferent to the butchery of the Syrian people.

Pakistan has picked the right side of history. Thats what matters. We stand with the Syrian people who are our brothers in faith not with a murderer.

The reason why Pakistan is supporting Rebels in Syria is because Assad belongs to Alawites(A branch of Shia Islam) & is backed by Shiites from across the world, whereas the rebels are Sunni muslims just like majority of Pakistanis.

If Pakistan was so concerned about being on the right side of history they would never have supported the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Freedom of speech isnt banned here or it is ..

I even wonder at times why Pak didnt arm the men on peaks with man pads in kargil during 1999 .
I thought this thread was about arming Syrian Rebels?

Now stop derailing this thread by your silly comments.

It would be just a weapons sale and that too to SA we are not sending our troops to Syria or delivering our weapons directly to Syrians .
Besides Iran for past 3-4 decades sided with India and even today is the only source for Indian access to afghanistan via chabahar , when Iran doesnt address our concerns we should answer her in the same plate. On the other hand Iran is actively supporting and arming Asad's regime which lost its credibility after killing thousands of Syrians .

Give me a break please. You are actually trying to say is that we should have a hostile eastern front, hostile Durand line, plus at the end we should put Pak Iran relations in total jeopardy...??? We can never afford that at all brother. In the diplomatic world such things can never be settled like that...!

If Pakistan sells weapons to rebels the Iran can sell/provide weapons to Baluch separatist and Shia militant forces inside Pakistan and make Pakistan base for proxi war between Iran nas Saudi Arabia . so better keep a fare distance from this mess . But I think the saudi can attract Pakistan by offering buying tank and fighter aircraft from pakistan .

Pakistan should avoid getting mixed up in this battle. If the rebels are not successful in their campaign, the Syrians will seek revenge and start supporting terrorist groups operating in Pakistan. And that would be bad news.

Pakistan is not providing arms to anyone. If Saudi Arabia is buying them, they will be the owners and deciders where they go or not. What if Saudi Arabia had purchased those arms from United States or Korea? Pakistan is not indulging neither we are getting a party to this conflict.

Russians, china and the iranians concern will have to be tackled......

We do what suits our interests. Supporting the Mujahideen averted a Soviet and Indian invasion as well as destroyed the Satan from our continet. Gave us time to develop nukes, missiles and command and control system. Supporting FSA will earn us the sypport of the Syrian people who sooner or later are going to win over a minority apartheid.

no man, iran will never do that for 2 reasons, first is iran is surrounded by pakistan and it,s ALLIES and second thing is neither iran nor pakistan wants to have a trouble on their border

You got a valid point there. Actually, Pakistan's relations with Iran have always been so so. Iran is neither a friend, nor an enemy of Pakistan. Historically, Iran has been closer to India than Pakistan, and Pakistan has considered KSA as its closest (perhaps after China) ally. At any rate, Iran is our next door neighbor, and we must consider her concerns. It would not be wise to have unfriendly regimes on our three borders.

There are lots of ways of helping Syrians other than arming the rebels.

Err The Taliban appreared in 1995-96 not in 1979.
Even if Assad is removed from power it will be FSA which will be most powerful but Jabhat Al Nusra & ISIS.
Remember internet forums & twitter accounts belonging to JaN & ISIS frequently label Pakistan Army as Murtads & Napak.

It remained for so many years. Hope it will now join NATO operations against syrian government raising concerns in china, russia and Iran.

Better send all Jihadist there in Syrian Black Hole. For sure they all will be LIH. Lost in Hole.
