Saudi prince to be executed

Death sentence due to blasphemy is a disgusting medieval barbarism completely regardless of who is executed - Muslim, Hindu, Atheist or Voodoo.

Blasphemy law is just a tool of the clergy to oppress the people, the law itself is the biggest blasphemy. :bad:

Renouncing Judaism or Islam is punishable by death. :what:

Anyway, I agree with you on the death penalty, such thing never took place in here, what they normally do is to pressure the apostate to his fullest to refrain from renouncing his faith.

not in islam...quran has no punishment in this life for apostasy....the laws as they exist are a human construct built on analogy and projection-relying among others on judaic laws.....products of human professors of islamic law....

In theory, yes. If you renounce Islam you're entitled to do so as long as your conversion mustn't be at the expense of others, like harassing people just because they happen to be Muslims or insulting them or pose a threat by enticing violence.

In practice, If you chose to renounce your faith, then be it, but you are no longer welcomed in the community that was supposed to be yours.

I think that it is very important to execute this murderer (Al-Saud family or not) if the victims family will not accept the blood money. To make a clear point that nobody is above the law when they commit such a crime. This should be the standard procedure with anyone.
