Saudi King Salman makes changes to government

I'm a medical student and I believe the above graph is wildly inaccurate. :smart:

You still have a long way ahead of you son. Medicine is like the army, it is a factory for men. (Or women but you know what I mean). You are in the survival game, and when you start working you will be faced with even bigger challenges. Expect a brain explosion around the last year and the first two years when you start working. Your eyes are going to see a different world.

My mother is a dermatologist and one of my 3 sisters is a doctor (GP). I have had enough of doctors to put it mildly.

In fact chemical engineers > everyone else.:guns::yay:

Masha' Allah ,Nice :enjoy:

So, you're Chemical eng. or doctor ? give me the final answer :D

I'm mechanical eng.

.
Where is Gen Khalid placed? He was the Joint Commander of Allied forces fighting Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Our troops had served under this command. The Gen is popular here because he had come to assist us when a war between BD and Burma/Myanmar over Arakan / Rohingya Muslims seemed imminent. The situation is heating up again.

.
why a lot of Drs are megalomaniacs ?!:P

You don't say?

Show respect son:

This is invalid as there are no chemical engineers on that list (separate category). We are special species. Chemical engineers are the highest paid engineers in the US and everywhere else in general outside of petroleum engineers. Those two fields are closely tied btw.

He was most recently Deputy Minister of Defense. I don't know what he is up to nowadays but since he is part of the Sudairi clan I expect him to be in the limelight again.

Bah, these engineers think they can do a fraction of what we do and at the hours we do it in. I have not a doubt in my mind that your work means a higher pay with lesser hours. Which actually means you are smarter by default for picking the right career, not that there is a right or wrong careers but some careers are more beneficial than others.

Anyways, the graph clearly states that engineers fall some where in the two thirds. Doctors is where its at. If not for being smart enough, its for being smart enough but none the less went on with it despite knowing that it sucks.

Hope the Gen becomes the Def Minister. Another war with Burma/Myanmar is brooding because of the genocide that is being carried out against the Muslims in Atrakan.

In all seriousness then I don't take such statistics too seriously. How old is that Hemnon-Nelson IQ scale? How many people were tested? From which countries? Which ethnic groups? Age groups? What kind of IQ did they test? Where they testing newly educated people or people with experience etc.?

Also I don't see a separate category for chemical engineering. Engineering is too wide a field. The same thing with medicine to some extent.

Also I did not chose this field because it pays good but because I am genuinely interested in chemistry, science and engineering. I would never be able to study chemical engineering at such a high level if there was not an element of passion and interest involved. In order to be happy with doing something again and again (for prolonged periods of time which a job is a prime example of) I need to have a degree of passion and interest. Of course the fact that this field is paying well that I can work across the world (if I want to) etc. is a big plus. Not denying that.

Being a doctor is a very admirable thing. Also a huge responsibility. I was thinking about pursuing this career until I found out that death, hospitals and mostly sadness is not something for me. Life is too short for that. We all experience this in our life but not as a career field. I for instance am happy that my mother and one of my sister's are doctors because I know that they are helping people.

Hope the Gen becomes the Def Minister. Another war with Burma/Myanmar is brooding because of the genocide that is being carried out against the Muslims in Atrakan.

Yes, I read a bit about it. Seems like tensions are running high. I recall having a discussion about the Rohingya people a few months ago with a Burmese user. Fair to say that we were not in agreement. The biggest Rohingya diaspora outside of South Asia is found in KSA and especially in Makkah and Hijaz as a whole. So I read about their situation ages ago. Burmese people argue that they are recent illegal migrants from Bangladesh who should return while they say that they are indigenous people who just started converting to Islam when the first Arab Muslim merchants and sailors started settling in what is now Burma.

@Mosamania @al-Hasani debate all you want... at the end the world needs a hustler like to me run it :big_boss:

btw if you meant khalid bin sultan hes never coming back.

A shrewd businessman/negotiator is always needed. You are not a Semite for no reason.:omghaha:

You really think so? I would not rule it out. He probably still has somewhat of an influence behind the curtain.

.
If he really changes the anti-MB policy of king abdullah, that would be really something good for the region. The land of Mecca and Medina should have more pragmatic balanced policies than backing blood thirsty dictators in the region. Though its too early to jump the gun but it would be in KSA's interest to have a rapprochement with MB.

May Allah (swt) guide King salman to carry out his responsibilities in accordance with quran and sunnah. Ameen.

Did you had meltdowns when you were studying MBBS ? I heard it occurs in 2nd or 3rd year of study :p:

bro the MB was part of the problem. america used them as a tool. so lets assume you are right. would you prefer MB tool in the hands of america to reshape the region and change the concept of islam. or a dictator who is in the hands of muslims fighting an agenda that is destroying islam ? im just assuming here and giving an example.
btw the MB is a political party. so just cuz it has the word muslim in it doesn't mean they are islam and anyone against them is against islam!
you care about islam ? then how come any muslim in power would accept a secular state ?! thats against islam according to the quran and hadith! thats why america backed the MB in egypt they want muslims to accept secularism and stop applying sharia law. they wanted the " radical" muslims to think that they have an islamic government when in fact its not. and then they want us to become like turkey and muslims in europe. so the end goal is turn islam into a spiritual thing between you and allah and be just like the christians.
btw hamdulelah turkey is coming back to islam. and by turkey i mean the ppl. they are becoming more religious and its worrying the west

You are probably right. I am overestimating seniority here. Fact of the matter though is that he recently had an important position and that the country is now ruled by the Sudairi clan which he is a part of. If Sultan had lived to become the king he might have returned at some important position. Now he is probably not going to do so as you say.

New blood is needed too. I fully agree.

Mosab, just out of curiosity, are you working as a GP or something else? Also are you based in Ta'if or Jeddah? Or have you thrown the beloved Hijaz in the trash bin and moved to the "Devil's Horn", Najd?
