We don't even want Kurds, they should go independent so we get rid of them, except recently they took areas which is not being accepted by many so I see another war coming about that. Neither Arabs nor Turkmen & Assyrians are accepting it, their political parties made this official stance, Turkmen front a political party made that statement on TV several days ago. Iran, from what I understand, exercises some leverage and influence over the Kurds. So do our Turkish friends. Turkiye and Iran should be the nations to help Iraqis reconcile.

That way other countries (regional and far away) will fail in their designs to divided Iraq and use it as a proxy battleground the way Syria had become

Ralph Peters' map was published in 2005 or 2006. Then came another map in Atlantic magazine in 2008. It came directly from Washington. While we pushed our heads into sands, those guys on the other side of the ocean were drawing maps.

I don't believe in conspiracies mate but the Middle East is probably one of the most important areas geopolitically and one of the richest in terms of resources and history. It's also the home of the two' world's biggest religions (Christianity and Islam).

Of course the region will always be a playground for powerful outsiders for those and other numerous reasons.

But there is a long way from this to such conspiracies.

First of all Afghanistan and Pakistan are not Middle Eastern countries. Where is Egypt? A key MIddle Eastern country?

I don't see anything realistic about that map other than the supposed Kurdish region.

well they re-drew a lot of maps thanks to conquests of native americans not to mention large-scale purchases like Louisiana and capture of Texas New Mexico California....

but they will be foolish to try re-drawing maps in regions that are culturally different

my problem with fellow Musims is when we allow ourselves to become targets, and therefore we do the dirty work for them....

Afghanistan and Pakistan are foreign entities (overall) compared to other Middle Eastern countries simply because they are not part of the MIddle East. Culturally, historically or geographically. I have never seen anything called the "Greater Middle East". historically. It was something the Bush administration invented. Need I say more? They are not part of West Asia either, mate.

What is becoming realistic? I need concrete evidence not conspiracies. I know that they are popular in our region but I never been a fan of them.
