The Washington Post: Morocco’s reluctance to accept quake aid baffles foreign governments

This has to do with Sahara desert. Morocco has terrible relations with neighboring Algeria who also claims oil rich Sahara desert. Algeria is more aligned with the French colonialist. Morocco is more independent. Countries that accept Moroccan claim over Sahara desert are allowed to help. Those that don't are bluntly being told to fvck off. Also Morocco isn't Pakistan that allows every Tom, Dick and Harry into their country. Very smart move by Morocco. USAID i.e. CIA might be operating freely in Pakistan. Other countries have tighter controls and actually care about the security of their country.

LOL I love it how the poodles are baffled.

help from some western countries is never without consequences! But this is different brother

Moroccans need help because of him (king) people are dying because he wants to pick who can help SMH

He’s sitting in his palace so he doesn’t know what’s happening!

The aim of the resources mobilized is to respond quickly to this major natural disaster, the worst earthquake ever suffered by Morocco..

No man we are worse tgen them but we dont robe people abrod. Yeha we rob our own country well.
I have seen with my own eyes Pakistanis in France starting to do what you are describing about Moroccans. The irony is that what are doing Moroccans and are doing Pakistanis now, is what was done by french people in France in the 80’s.

Seems each era (more or less long) has its specialists in crimes.

In uk lot Pakistanis are involved in drug dealing, in child sexual abuse, raped etc… and murders. Maybe it’s less bad than robbing fine by Moroccans fir you.

perhaps you are not looking toward the good people. I have met many really nice Moroccans in France !

I just watched the news where it talks about the earthquake in Morocco..while the images show medieval villages all red and made of stone, no roads, no electricity, Miserable populations ... Terrible: Morocco is the Middle Ages of modern times!

Morocco’s decision to be selective in accepting aid from specific countries may be influenced by various factors. They appear to prioritize assistance from countries they have strong diplomatic relations with, such as Britain, Qatar, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates. This approach might be based on past cooperation, trust, or logistical considerations.

The United Nations’ standby approach to providing assistance is in line with established protocols, where the affected country’s government typically takes the lead in coordinating aid efforts. However, it’s essential for the Moroccan government to communicate its specific needs to facilitate effective international assistance.

Morocco’s approach to humanitarian and technical assistance should ideally focus on the immediate needs of earthquake survivors, ensuring they receive the support required promptly. The allocation of international aid resources should be based on the most urgent needs on the ground.

Morocco isn't Pakistan. Pakistan sells itself all the time. Even during calamities. Morocco won't sell its sovereignty. It is very clear that Morocco doesn't seek interference from the outside.

I think Algeria is more aligned with Russia and China.

Algeria is aligned with any country where it can seek support from against Morocco.

I have many Moroccan friends. I have discussed this issue recently with a few. It is very clear what Morocco is doing here.

pakistan has most corrupt more than abroad pakistanis.

This Moroccan king is no angel like the ones before him. Nevertheless he has done a lot more for Morocco. He is still young and he is smarter than his predecessors.

One major issue with Morocco is its links with Israel. Jews have historically lived in Morocco in sizeable number. They are occupying influential positions. One of the closest advisers to the Moroccan king is a Jew. There are Israelis who actually claim that Morocco is a major part of Israel LOL
