ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabian Minister for Economic Planning Engineer Adil Al Faqih on Monday said that his country was keen to work with Pakistan and China and desired that the mega project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) should be extended to the Red Sea and Africa.

He was talking to Minister for Planning Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal in Riyadh, said a message received here from Saudi Arabia. The two sides discussed economic cooperation between the two countries.

Ahsan Iqbal apprised the Saudi minister of Pakistan’s recent economic progress on the CPEC and shared Vision 2025 experience. Engineer Faqih said Saudi Arabia was launching its Vision 2030 and expressed the desire to promote cooperation between the ministries of economic planning of the two countries.

CPEC will have a negative impact on South East Asia because it will divert majority of the trade attention concentrated there. Countries like Singapore and Brunei heavily rely on trade and have gotten rich because their countries lie in a strategic position perfect to be the 'middle man' of the Global-Chinese international trade.

Very much possible. From Gawader to any port in Oman or Dammam (KSA), all the way through KSA and then through the proposed bridge between KSA and Egypt. Gulf of Aden is becoming too hot with passage of time.

Pakistan should welcome any country that wants to join CPEC because if you think positively it will benefit the whole region...I really wonder how can Singapore be part of CPEC?

Singaporean individuals/businessmen can have their factories in economic zones, which are going to be established in Gwadar. So that they can exports their products to ME directly through Gwadar (shorten route than exporting through Singapore).

@somebozo your thoughts, sir.

Ship takes stuff from Gwadar to Riyadh via Sea or Jeddah

Then by road the goods travel to North Saudia , where Saudia is preparing a new "Bridge" land bridge to connect directly to Egypt i.e Africa entry port

Short distance from Gwadar to Riyadh - Egypt by land

Since Kingdom produces cheap gasoline /petrol

The trucks transporting goods would be quite cheap

More states and powers joining CPEC and creating mutual inter dependencies with Pakistan, can mean only one thing. Pakistan emerging as powerful, prosperous and true global player. CPEC will provide the shortest energy corridor for gulf states to export their oil to huge Chinese market. With Saudi getting edgy with Yanks, if Pakistan can play its card well, we can lure them into CPEC for their oil exports. At the same time, give olive branch to Iran to use CPEC to export its own oil to China. Everyone happy and bob is your uncle.

Well Pakistan wants good relations with all regional countries and involve them into CPEC

Regional connectivity is the new phenomenon. Now economic dynamics demands regional development not stand-alone economic development by any country.
Good to be interconnected with world.
