This is a clear diplomatic victory for Pakistan over us. India not only lost diplomatically it lost precious life as well in the process during this entire pulwama episode and I foresee we losing the jadhav case as well. India needs a young educated government and better iq'ed population to move forward sadly neither is available now.

in early 2000s saudi also announced 100bn$ investment in india and its now stands at 900mn only . in fact india invested in saudi arabia more then saudia arabia invested in india

CPEC 62 billion is real money, spent or committed, Saudi 100 billion to India is a "promise", a "intention". China can say we will invest 1000 billion in Africa, you get the idea.

That’s worth half of the Pakistani economy and nearly twice the level of investment of the much vaunted “game changing” CPEC.
And in return we didn’t have to let some low level Saudi royalty hunt our prized animals on extinction watch or open up Madrasas to spread Wahhabism.
I think we will take this deal. Pakistanis like to give a lot back in return, we don’t.

Mate not only for yours but I keep reading this argument about population difference between India and Pakistan. So as per this logic, more populous means more prosperous? I guess it's opposite. Besides going by that logic, there are 193 countries in the world (plus 2 non-UN members), Pakistan is 6th largest in population,,,so Pakistan should be ahead of 187 countries in terms of prosperity!!

More population means more problems....I guess we are not fair when we don't consider bigger population size of India when we rant on toilets/mismanagement/poverty etc...

CPEC is not a game changer because of an investment of USD 62 Billion; it is a game changer because of its prospects and its future, it is a game changer because of the options and facilities it accords to China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE and many other Central Asian Countries. CPEC has the potential to become Singapore and Dubai combined with the amount of trade that can pass through it, after building up of transit capacities.

And to China particularly, CPEC also provides a massive Military advantage, if China wishes to seize on the idea.

1) $21 billion for Pakistan comes with certain liabilities , it means more problems with Iran.
2) Of $100 billion for India nothing much might materialize , its still ok if they dont even invest a single dollar. At least we will not end up being a pawn in the game against others.
