That’s worth half of the Pakistani economy and nearly twice the level of investment of the much vaunted “game changing” CPEC.
And in return we didn’t have to let some low level Saudi royalty hunt our prized animals on extinction watch or open up Madrasas to spread Wahhabism.
I think we will take this deal. Pakistanis like to give a lot back in return, we don’t.

No. It's good figure but relative to India's population it is just okay. Given India's size, booming economy I would have expected something like $200 billion.

More is always better, but no one has ever said no to an inflow of money, especially if it doesn’t come with any strings attached.

Good for them both. They are also planning to invest around $4 billion in BD.

I think saudi is trying to diversify its porfolio by investing in South Asia, which has been seeing some pretty decent growth over the last few years. As western powers are pressuring Saudis more over their war in yemen, the killing of the journalist, etc, I think saudis are trying to find new alliances.
