Saudi Arabia Persuades Pakistan to Abandon Iran-Pakistan Pipeline

Pakistan needs SA's support at a global stage. No so much the other way around. If Pakistan would anyway go for IP pipeline, I would guess India could take the opportunity to further develop partnership with SA.

Look Mosa, Saudi Arabia is Pakistan’s friend over the years and we respect that but Unfortunately or fortunately the majority in Pakistan now sees every relation through the prism of US hegemonic behavior in our neighborhood, through the prism of WOT….through the prism of daily drone attacks on our sovereignty to be precise….!

Any country who is seen to be siding with US view, are to be seen here as accomplice of that rapist nothing less be it Turkey or KSA….Sorry…these are the political norms gaining grounds here completely.

Pakistan was recently and will be -- once the recently emerged issues are resolved and Pakistan is back on it's previous prosperous path -- self sufficient and not in need of "pity" support -- which usually comes with hidden strings attached, beneficial in the short run but detrimental to the long term -- from KSA. Even right now -- in this pathetic position that Pakistan has landed itself in -- they are most likely inflicting us more harm than benefit. KSA's support for Pakistan has NEVER been only for the benefit for Pakistan, only a fool would think that they don't put their self-interest (which is quite possibly long term, in this case) first.

Once we cut this "golden" anchor loose, then it will need to find a new puppy for itself.

Bad News for You Indian: Saudi, Pakistani ties are not limited to one Issue. Their brotherhood's depth is what you can never measure. Keep up with your w*t dreaming. We like to see disillusioned Indians like you, crying hard !!!

i think we should not listen and act upön every önce advice. We should be free in our dealings as KSA was in dealing with india a defence production deal.

I think this load shedding will never stop bcoz of these countries.

Contrary to Mosa's assumptions, the IP is a much shorter, safer & cheaper (more transit fees) route than the TAPI. The gas reserves of the Daulatebad gas field have not been certified either.

I don't know why some Saudi members should be jealous of growing Iran-Pakistan ties. Iran is Pakistan's neighborhood and biggest energy superpower after Russia. Iran is in a desperate situation due to sanctions and will be more than willing to sell gas at below market price. This pipeline can be connected to China in the future, which will also provide for China's growing energy needs in its western part. This will increase China's stake in Pakistan and allow for a security block to be formed to prevent US hegemony in Pakistan.

So many positive points. Do all Saudi members view everything from Shia-Sunni perspective? Just because Iran is Shia so Iran is a Kuffar country and Muslim countries should cut ties with them? I expect this kind of wahabi thinking from Saudi royal family however I did not expect it from the Saudi members here. Why are Saudis so jealous if Pakistan progresses in right direction? Or they value their rivalry with Kuffar Shias more than the well being of their muslim brothers in Pakistan?

Not to sound mercenary but I am sure that Iran can match anything Sauds can give Pakistan. Hopefully our govt will break from the charity that Sauds want to keep us dependent on. No different to a drug dealer given a quick fix to encourage Pakistan to be dependent on Saudi and indirectly America.

how about keep good relations with both iran is a priority since its our neighbour and its staying there as we are staying with it so a little and better trade and relations with it wont hurt us plus getting gas from here is much easier then getting it from far away arabia and right now iran is in sanctions we can help them out and iran can provide us with gas its a better win win situation and i am not saying say good bye to arabia kepp good relations with them i am pretty sure these guys wont leave us... and to the indian buddy the world is not divided into relations with pakistan or india.. a country can have relations with both as iran is trying and so can saudi but ours is much deeper:p:P

ofcourse they can they have gas and oil and have very few buyers which can give us an advantage but you know i dont care they r our neighbors and thats a good enough reason to have a pipeline rebuild the ties that got so strained after the fall of the shah. they are here and we are here no one is going anywhere so lets build strategic interests with eachother

Notice once again how the Saudis work towards Zionist ambitions?

Instead of openly putting pressure themselves they get the Saudis to do it.

Don't forget, zadari is a Zionist too.

House of Saud must understand that they don't share a border with us , they would NOT be able to compete with Iranian price of energy resources. Unless a submarine pipeline is built which wont please US either.

More importantly , Pakistan has become the punching bag between Asia & the US - Iran & Saudis. We must build a future where our interests come first & not what other countries want. This game has made our life more difficult over the years , it must not continue.

.
we need energy and iran is the closet and shorter way plus cheap at a time plus they are undr sanctions we can help them this way and are helped too.

.
i'm not ANTI KSA & i really cherish the friendship between KSA & PAK... but PAK should continue with its plan to get gas from Iran, bcoz its a long term solution for energy hungry PAKISTAN, any other packages offered for now are to achieve certain goals & once those are achieved these so called generosity packages will also DIE...
