What's new

Saudi Arabia bans Tablighi Jamaat, calls it 'one of the gates of terrorism'

why i see pakistnai afghanis will only remain jehadi tableeghi and extreamists in future while whole world will move on from these backword things to future . ironically they will remain only whom asking money for . its same as paksitani mullahs they ask money from society to survive .

This is not new. As far as I know, TJ is not banned in Kuwait and other Gulf states. It's political in Saudi Arabia, nothing to do with terrorism. Saudis ban foreign based religious groups, especially if they are Muslim, because their loyalty is not to the Saudi regime. Saudi Arabia only allows its official pro government brand of Islam, commonly known as Wahhabism, or Saudi Salafism, which ironically produced the most terrorists.

Well, I don't see them any longer go around the neighborhood in a group they called "gasht". They would come every Thursday evening to meet me and invite me forcibly to the mosque because "some brothers like me were not attending the mosque". They were an irritating and anti-intellect bunch. For example, once they came during the day with one of them coming to the door saying that "The IT people have come" - IT as in computing". I went to the gate where they were gathered and when talking I told them that I had written a simple operating system. Now it is not everyday in India that someone writes an OS. In fact this was the first OS in India however simple it was. They were not impressed. In fact I think the not-so-minor fact of someone in India, someone in their own neighborhood, having written an OS didn't at all register in their two-brain-cell minds. For some years they tried to get me amongst their ranks but they had to stop. :D And I think the calls in India in early 2020 during the COVID first wave for the government to ban them must have put the scare in them and they since have stopped going around the neighborhood.
So you want them banned because they irritate you and they didn’t get impressed by your OS? True follower of Stalin:lol:

Only people that dont know about TJ is talking crap. They are non political, non sectarian and above all non violent. They preach only very basics. They only ask u to become good muslims, pray, fast, give zakaat and help each other. They are polite and no matter how much u abuse them on the face, they will never become rude. Its just the internal hatred of people towards Islam that says such stuff.

Tableeghi Jamaat are the very reason for end of colonialism in South Asia. Without them, Muslims couldn't have one word and one front.

What are you going on about?

The entire Islamic religious establishment (Deoband particularly) in British India was strongly opposed to Jinnah's Pakistan movement

Jinnah's Muslim League won almost all seats reserved for Muslims in the 1946 elections in which the combined front of Muslim Religious Organizations (Muslim Parliamentary Board) headed by Darul uloom Deoband supported Congress instead. They even declared it Haram for Muslims to join Jinnah's Muslim League ..

Too much for one front! No?

Obviously under Instructions from the Uncle. During Kayani’s time similar instructions were given to Pakistan, they were politely told to take a hike. This will not end well for MBS or SA.

The most accurate comment. TJ is a missionary organisation, it is not political in its roots but does influence many political parties aswell as government/military officials. Saudi Arabia is trying to control the Islamic movements in Saudia and around the world so those which are independent from Saudi chains will not be tolerated. Since the 1980s Saudi Arabia spent billions to fund Tablighi Jamaat around the world, they made close relationship until Saudi Arabia decided to become modern and now has issues with TJ. Same with Muslim Brotherhood, Saudi Arabia heavily funded them for decades until MB became powerful to be independent from Saudi and now Saudia declared it as a terrorist organisation. If you visit the UK, you can visit many TJ/deobandi Masjids and they all call Ibn Abdul Wahab Najdi as a role model and a great Shaykh. So I do believe TJ will slowly become modern and Issues with Saudi Arabia will be resolved, it will just take them some time to catch up with Saudi modernisation.

I have been for years saying on PDF about the Tablighi Jamaat being a misinformed and misguided movement from where the criminal-minded graduate to form criminal gangs or join criminal gangs. It is for such a reason that Russia and the Central Asian Muslim-majority countries banned the TJ years ago. Other countries should follow suit, from Southeast Asia to South Asia to Africa ( if the TJ is not a competitor in idiocy to the Muslim Brotherhood there ) to Europe to the Americas to maybe West Asia too. I quote from the wiki for the TJ :

If we consider the NATO regime-change wars against the Libyan Jamahiriya and Syria many of the "Libyan" and "Syrian" "moderate rebels" i.e. headchoppers, cat eaters and human-heart eaters will be from the TJ.

I appeal to any member of PDF who is part of the TJ to please leave this dangerous and misguided movement.

The end of British domination in South Asia had neither the TJ doing any contribution nor the Hindutvadis. I being in India must tell you that it is these TJ idiots who have spoilt the atmosphere among Muslims in the last 20 years. The TJ has essentially created a suffocating, ghettoized environment of burqas, mustacheless beards and adoption of the Arab male dress the Thawb in the hope that wearing this dress will make the wearer an enhanced Muslim. Islam as forwarded by these misinformed and misguided people called the TJ has become no different than Brahminical Hinduism, heavy on rituals and no empathetic understanding of the philosophy of Islam.

You are correct but recent years they have slowly become moderates, especially in the western world. They love Saudi Arabia and Ibn Abdul wahab Najdi but the difference is they are a huge organisation so are independent from Saudi Arabia which is why they may not like it at the moment. You should read about TJ links with Afghanistan war, with the Pakistani army, who provided the foot soldiers to the militants. Its basically a network, one is a missionary movement, then another is political movement, another is militant, and some are neutral and try to join all political parties with the same ideology. In total a massive network working on all fronts.

I don't think Saudi Arabia ever accepted TJ, so they never funded them. I would be really surprised if they did. Saudis don't fund proselytizing organizations other than Saudi loyalist. I believe TJ shuns government funding as well because their mission does not promote any specific political agenda.

They certainly have, you will be surprised. In AJK our biggest Maddrassa was funded by Saudi Arabia but its a TJ run Maddrassa. TJ consider Saudi Arabia to be role model Islamic state and consider Ibn Abdul Wahab najdi as the great scholar. What Saudi does is fund those organisations which she thinks can be allies with but at times the organisation is too big to control. The Muslim Brotherhood has 1000s of salafi members and it was funded by Saudi until Turkey came and become more closer to the MB. Now Saudia hates MB. Saudi Arabia will be ally to any organisation as long as they work under Saudi Arabia, this way Saudi arabia will stay as the leader of the Muslim ummah.

Good decision. Religions extremism / Mullaism always lead to degeneration and mental deterioration.

Name a single country in the world that has extreme religious population but doing great otherwise. None.

All successful countries, whether Scandinavian countries, other european countries, US, China, Japan... None of the advanced, successful countries will tolerate that their population gets stuffed with religion instead of real life advance sciences.
Israel, India and US.

Saudis have been hating on MB ever since they refused to join the first Saudi war on Yemen back in the 70's

Saudi is not a center of Islam. What they are doing is to preserve their Monarchy. It is very clearly seen when they are against Morsi of Ikhwanul Muslimin (Muslim Brotherhood) and side with nationalist secular leader, Abdul Fatah Al Sisi.

If I am not mistaken Saudi is among Arab nations beside Egypt who ban Muslim Brotherhood.

Thanks. I'll do some reading on this. Many MB members are salafis but still Saudi Arabia rejects them because they don't consider Saudi to be the main state. Recently Muslim Brotherhood aligned with Turkey so this was a stab in the Saudi-Wahhabi belly.

Yes but they consider themselves to be the centre of Islam. This is why OIC Council is all about bowing to Saudi Arabia rather than being about Palestine. The MB was a close ally of Saudi, many of their leadership migrated to Saudi and started to convert to salafism. The issue is MB became to powerful to control so now Saudi is trying to destroy it.

I think it is due to the changing mindset of Saudi ruler. As Monarchy, Saudi will be dictated with their ruler, King, not with the people. It is easier to see changes coming from the ruler (King) instead of President of democratic country that needs to stick with their people mindset in order to keep elected and supported.

In the old time, King Faisal can be regarded as Islamist and support MB, but current Saudi King is more toward their own interest, preserving their Monarchy system. MB as large political Islam group in Arab region who believe with democracy will endanger Saudi and other Gulf Monarchy countries like UAE.

Saudi has strong position in OIC since they are rich country and has had leadership in Arab League (partially through their money). It is natural when Saudi with Arab League who support it become more stronger than non Arab states who dont have such unity among themselves in OIC.
