Karachi, Jan 10 (ANI): Former Pakistani Test cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz has said that felt that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should send the national team to Bangladesh to feature in the upcoming Asia Cup in a bid to keep cricket away from politics.

The PCB had earlier announced that Pakistan's participation in the event, which will now be a five-team contest as Afghanistan has been invited to participate in it, will depend on the report of the security expert who will go to Dhaka on January 20.

According to The Nation, although former PCB chairman Ijaz Butt has said it is better to pick the UAE as a neutral venue for the Asia Cup as Bangladesh might not be able to accept Sri Lanka as alternate hosts, Nawaz however, said that Pakistan should not mix cricket with politics and should participate in the Asia Cup event.

Stating that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the government must have planned fool-proof security for the visiting teams in the mega event, Nawaz also said that the situation in Bangladesh is not that dangerous as the trouble is political rather than terrorism, adding that it would get better as days pass.
