What's new

Salman Rushdie stabbed in New York. - Just in.

True, but this one will and is making the news all over the planet.. our guys don't make the global news for their indiscretions in the villages.. Rushdie sab to baday aadmi hai

Mar ja ya na, he's already a martyr, and all the bloody prints/smears lie you know where.

you lose either way.

Not really, I live in London UK and no one here really cares. Muslim or otherwise. White western Europeans or those living in the West don't think like indians.

That is all irrelevant. Would a 24 year old you attack (with the intent to kill) a 75 year old grandpa for having written a book 35 years ago claiming some nonsense (apparently as nobody seems to have read his useless book in the first place) ? We all know the answer to that.

If the answer is yes, I am waiting for you to attack/kill all the 10.000's of local Brits who engage in anti-Islamic hate speech on a daily basis.

Of course many Muslims are incredibly dumb, this attack is a confirmation of that theory.

Unless you live in the West, you won't know the ground realities here. Most of those who don't like Islam will not OPENLY talk about it like they do in a sh*thole like india. Most of these guys who hate Islam is because their women folk are converting.......... :azn::

. .
Muslims live in western country's accuse them of being islamophobic while supporting acts like these,

Its about time when they start deporting you all.
Yeah just like people love our oil, minerals resources and markets etc but hate us. Dont you think this world is full of hypocrisy and if muslims will get kickedout of west so will the western intersts from muslim countries?

No one in your ghetto maybe, but facts are, he's a pretty well regarded author, he ends up getting murdered.. it'll look even worse that it is already.

You keep flexing but, champ.

So an india in india knows better than someone who ACTUALLY lives in London and constantly interacts with white western europeans?.........................that guy in the picture looks more fitter, stronger and healthier than 98% of indians............

Rushdie was nearly forgotten and now this happened. He was living quite a normal life before this and that included being among Muslims, talking in front of Muslims, living next to them etc.

As for how relevant this event is the world has far too many issues now that are taking the limelight e.g. war in Ukraine, global prices rising, drought etc.

I was surprised how few people actually highlighted it on social media, and the mainstream media in the UK where he is from has it as a side story, I suppose he does live in the US now (NY city).

He's been an American citizen for a while now. He was fading into obscurity for years now and then some feeble minded idiot does this.

Farcical.

Seems like a false flag.

He was probably running low on funds so had to stage something for his next book.

Here in the UK, no one really cares about rushdie getting stabbed. People are more concerned about rising costs etc.

I have to agree with this assessment, the "masses" have their own problems in Europe and UK is no exception.

You will always have fringe elements that will use this, but the large majority of people and I read a lot of European online newspapers are covering energy crisi, food crisis, fuel crisis, cost of living crisis and now unemployment crisis.

Oh I didn't know he took US citizenship and that's after the UK paid for his security for years looking after him. He's been in New York almost 20 years!

Now that you’re a citizen, do you look at the country differently?

Yes, I do. On that day when I was downtown in the relevant building in New York swearing the oath, I came out of there into the sunlight and got a Yellow Cab and was going home through New York City, where I’ve lived for almost 20 years, and I looked around and I realized I was looking at it completely differently. And the phrase “my country” occurred to me. And I thought, Oh , I see, OK, I’m American now. I’m now an American novelist.

Cheepek found this post very funny, shows he knows little about middle east Shia-Sunni politics. I would be very surprised if an Arab Sunni did it.
Yeah well, have you come across someone who goes by the name Osama Bin Laden? :v
I guess no, so it's okay.

The UK government have an agreement with law enforcement in the US for people like this, they get regular threat assesments and the usual venue security and their homes are target hardened with direct link alarms etc.

Interestingly the UK removed this level of protection from Prince Harry.
