Sajid Javid to be UK home secretary after Windrush scandal resignation

Neither has he said anything bad. It's logical to assume that he will be empathetic with the British Pakistani community as he himself is a member of it, whether anyone likes it or not.
im not disputing that, im disputing he will favour india over pakistan,

None of those things caste him out from being a Pakistani. There are many Christian British Pakistanis as well as non-religious ones.
How would you define a "British Pakistani" then? Someone who conforms to your stereotypes of a bearded Muslim man with a funny accent?
i've lived in towns (east lancs) that have huge pakistani and indian communities, so much so i tell an indian apart from a pakistani. there both good people. and no, not all of them have beards but most of those who do like to style and keep it "sharp"

Thus > British + Pakistani equals British Pakistani. Simple. Refer to census sheet.
it seems nationalism is the gain of the discussion were having. its best if i leave it here.
i would have expected better from you kaptaan, maybe another time eh?

. .
It seems like British Pakistanis are either on the very top of the British society or on the very bottom - and only a few are part of the middle class. Am I wrong?

@Kambojaric @Kaptaan

As Kaptaan pointed out, the bulk of Pakistanis migrated to the northern mill towns where there were a lot of factory jobs present in the post WW2 era. However with the manufacturing rise of China these mill towns suddenly saw their factories disappearing resulting in a large unskilled population suddenly finding themselves out of work as well. However the newer generations are doing better for themselves as far as I could see. When I studied in university there a lot of my British Pakistani class mates came from very poor backgrounds and now are doing well for themselves.

People argue that British Indians tend to be more successful than British Pakistanis and of higher social statuses, as well as generally being more accepted and liked by white people. What would you say about that?

Around 50% of the British Indian population lives in London. In comparison only 20% of the British Pakistani populace lives in the capital city. London is where most jobs can be found today so those Pakistani families that choose the North as their home in the 1940s-1960s are automatically at a disadvantage today. Meanwhile British Pakistanis in London have done better for themselves probably due to higher employment levels and family support for younger people.

"It was already the case in 2004 that Pakistani heritage pupils in London, both boys and girls, achieved above the national average – 50.2 per cent of Pakistani boys in London achieved five or more A*-C grades, compared with 46.8 per cent of boys nationally, as did 63.3 per cent of Pakistani girls, compared with 57 per cent nationally. In London, the achievement of Pakistani heritage pupils rose by 6.4 percentage points between 2003 and 2004, compared with 3.7 per cent nationally. The region with the largest number of Pakistani heritage pupils, Yorkshire and the Humber, had results in 2004 which were strikingly different from results in London. Only 32.3 of Pakistani heritage boys in this region achieved five A*-C grades, and only 42.7 of Pakistani heritage girls."

As for being liked more by white people, Indians are more at ease in socializing with white people than Pakistanis (the majority of whom for example will not drink, although in university days this was certainly not the case lol). The Pakistani community is plagued with practises which gets heavy negative press attention (honour killings, rotherham scandal, religious extremism). The Indian community is largely free from such negative press attention.
