these cricketers are awarded these ranks & honour for their outstanding contribution & determination/devotion to their sport to make India proud of its sons just like our defence officiers & soldier do.

sachin was honoured after he completed his 200* in ODI also at those times he was among top in ICC ranking for Best batsmen in Test.

same with Dhoni, he recieved this honour after he leaded Indian team to World Cup Victory
