here's an analogy to show you how potent and luring that "false sense of security" is...
there is this insanely (and I mean...INSANELY) expensive drug called truvada. Ever heard of it? it is a drug, if taken daily before breakfast, will protect you from hiv infection throughout the day until the next day when you have to take it again...

yes, this is an actual drug. people from the lbgt community have flocked to this drug and spend their entire life savings on purchasing this drug and yet...this drug has a dangerously scary rate of failure. How do I know? My wife works in the medical field and deals with lbgt patients all the time who are infected and yet, most of them have this truvada drug in their body along with the hiv virus.

THE FRIGGIN' PILL DOES NOT WORK!!! just like the s400s. yes, sure, under certain conditions, with the right body temperature and the right diet provided you didn't have alcohol the night before and don't smoke weed 12 hours after taking it and don't have a cold or flu or are running a fever along with a billion other conditions, YEAH THE DRUG WILL WORK but for most, IT WILL NOT WORK AS WE SEE TODAY IN THE LBGT COMMUNITY!!! this pill sells that false sense of security JUST like the s400 does.

The only good hiv prevention is abstinence.
The only good defense is a brutal offense.

Everyone knows why Russia is doing what it's doing.
But, S-400s are in too small a number to be actually effective, in its current numbers it is but a threat for what's to come.
What the current systems does in the small numbers that's present; it sets a precedent for the induction of more of the same.
And this gradual increase in arming gives your opponent to slow s#it down progressively.
Any, rapid changes in the status quo is usually disastrous and would lead to a war between world powers.

Just because a weapon system is in place doesn't mean you have to absolutely use it, if everyone thought like you, USSR and USA would have nuked each other already, wars have become more of a waiting game and reaction to every single provocation isn't necessary, like they often did back in olden days.

this is just one of the SAM systems india will deploy ,there is also barak 8 land version ,akash 1 and 2 sam,QRSAM,Spyder SAM and BMD AAD and PAD systems ,why S400 is getting the all "countermeasures" theories as it was first believed that russia won't sell it to india because of china or india won't buy because of sanctions but after that didn't work hence we see "countermeasure "articles every now and then ,india is also in talks with usa for NASAMS systems after that deal is done we're sure for "countermeasure "articles only nothing on ground .

Historically, India has been known for its revisionist policies vis-à-vis Pakistan which has been looking for status quo with regard to balance of power. In the past, Pakistan had offered a number of viable strategic confidence building measures (CBMs), including keeping South Asia free of nuclear weapons and having a bilateral moratorium on nuclear devices’ testing, but unfortunately India has been dismissive towards any such suggestions. Pakistan, having sensed the Indian desire of acquiring BMD, had offered one of the most doable nuclear CBM titled ‘Strategic Restraint Regime (SRR)’ that specifically offered to address the acquisition of destabilizing BMD in the region. While Pakistan’s proposal of SRR still remains on the table, India seems to be on the trajectory of destabilizing the region. With introduction of BMD system in the Pakistan-India security setup, Pakistan suggested restraint-based CBM of SRR seems to have lost its relevance and time-barred like so many other previously proposed CBMs which by no means has a positive impact on peace building efforts.

All these arguments have no basis.

The only neighbour India has a problem with is Pakistan, so there is nothing wrong with whatever India has been doing. Pakistan should look within itself.

Making South Asia nuclear free or this Strategic Restraint Regime cannot be done without China in the mix, who in turn will want to bring in the US and Russia. So any nuclear disarmament must involve the whole world, not just one country that is too poor and helpless to compete.

Besides that, the initial likely successful engagement of Pakistani strategic carriers by the S-400 missiles [in case Pakistan exercises its ‘First Use’ option] could panic the decision makers on both sides to fire whatever they have in their inventory, leaving behind the notion of ‘rationality’ redundant. Such an escalated use of nuclear devices by both sides due to the S-400 BMD system’s introduction makes it worthless and thus, Indian side needs to reconcile.

There is a simple solution to this problem. All Pakistan has to do is reverse its First Use policy to a No First Use policy, like India does. BMD is a defensive capability, and India has every right to exercise its ability to defend itself. Pakistan can get one of its own.

At one point the Russian planes mistakenly bombed on the Syrian regime forces, who were fighting Turkish backed FSA, few times!!!!! Thanks to the Greek S-300, Pak folks don’t need to worry that much....

as I said...reality talks...theory walks! The fact is and remains that after 2 years of deployment in Syria and many many bombings by u.s. et al after deployment, there hasn't been a single score to the s400's name, not even a hot air baloon!

S-400 has potent capabilities, but you are correct about its track record. I do not know of cases where the S-400 was fired in real combat scenarios. But that doesnt also mean it doesnt work. If Russia gets pushed, she will use it. Chance those S-400s missiles is a hoax is low. But you are correct that from an operational perspective, it has little or no record in actual combat.
