Russian Federation Air Force Chief visits PAF HQs, Air Defence Command

Well guys all of you missing the most important issue that PAF has with the russians. The Jf-17 ENGINE.
There has been a problem few months back for its supply. Production didnt go off like it was suppose to go. Now the supplier head is here and sitting in the bird we want them to power. Its a good sign as visit to us is the signal of yes. There must be a new Mou or a revised contract with some conditions like not to compete with the migs directly in the market. Its the only interest russian would have in visiting Pakistan for the first time.

Yea, but just like KLJ7 is the smaller version of KLJ10, the MIG35's radar can be reduced in size, with of course reduction in radar size, power, range and other functions.

At this point anything that makes JF-17 more lethal is welcome.

It would take time for russians to develop a downsized radar and who would Fund the program. There already is a better radar from Selex, Also PAF is happy with KLJ-7.

Fun fact, the 117S also powers the PAK-FA/FGFA.

Actual Fact.

The Lenta piece says a less powerful variant of the AL-41F1 – the AL-41F1S or “Item 117S” – will be put on the Su-35S fighter. The AL-41F1S has an older digital control system and a little less thrust.

Item 117 | Russian Defense Policy

PAK FA uses... Item 117.
Indian version would have a different engine... Item 129/Type 30.

pakistan has an air defence command????????

It functions under PAF HQ, ADC is headed by a AVM...it is headquartered in Chaklala, search for AD in youtube and in alot of videos you will find a huge greenish screen with dots and a rotating line, that screen is located in AD HQ in Chaklala, whole of Pakistani airspace is monitored through there.

He's quite experienced and has gone through multiple battlefields, don't be rude, a man like him deserves respect.

Of course, this is to do with building up mutual relations. Indians may not want to admit it, but Russia and Pakistan are getting closer and cozier together. This is just another sign that Putin's "agree to disagree" policy is working.

This relationship is NOT just a matter of defense, but defense is where it is starting out from. Pakistan needs Russia for economical and political reasons and I say that the Russians are more than welcome to come to Pakistan.

With the inevitable US sanctions on Pakistan after the US and NATO forces withdraw, the more support Pakistan gets in the region, the better.

Also, Pakistan wouldn't operate the Su-35 even if it had the option to, because Pakistan doesn't know the first thing about Russian planes. In my view, Pakistan should just opt in for engines and nothing more, it's better to stick with western and chinese jets than Russian.
