Russian Expert Terms Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning has Test Platform

Russian Expert in an Interview to Voice of Russia has claimed Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning is know more then test platform , and has claimed that recently delivered INS Vikramaditya to India is fully operable all weather aircraft carrier and surpasses Liaoning in operational Combat capability in high seas .

He also went on to say that China’s first aircraft carrier “Liaoning” was still a test platform and only in calm weather conditions it was ideal for aircraft takeoff and landing only in certain weather conditions . He had high praise for INS Vikramaditya and claimed even with delays Aircraft carrier cleared all tests and is fully capable combat ready ship.

He also went on to criticise Chinese Shipyard who took 10 years to deliver the ship in its current form even when ship never required any major design changes to its hull like INS Vikramaditya had to go through . and also raised doubts if Chinese carrier will ever be able to move out for High sea patrols beyond its Regional waters .

INS Vikramaditya will be reaching its home port in Karwar January next year and currently without Air defence missiles will be provided round clock security by other ships for next few months before Indo-Israeli Barak-8 Air defence missile is ready for Integration on the ship . Russian Crew will be in India for next one year to train and help fix issues related to any glitches in the ship while in India .

Guys you do know that he is selling a Russian carrier to us right? Do you really expect him to say that the Chinese carrier is obviously more capable, since it is the sister carrier of the one Russian navy operates as well with similar, but upgraded fighters?
Moreover, even if that carrier would only be a test plattform and it is already superior to what we get, what can we expect of the real carriers PLAN will field in future and their carrier fighters? Keep in mind that they don't look at India or IN, they aim to fight USN if necessary, which makes it obvious that they need more capability than fighting Viki, IAC 1 with Migs and N-LCA.

So? Does it mean they couldn't use a technically fully capable carrier with fighters, AEW and ASW helicopters in no time? And as I said, even if, it would only mean that what they have in mind for the future is more capable, so there is no point for us to brag that we have an operational carrier, when it still is inferior to their "test carrier".

J15 cannot take off from the Lioning with full load because of STOBAR configuration, J15 are heavy fighters But MIG are designed mainly for dog fights and are lighter. when two STOBAR config carriers meet it is the MIGs that will have advantage to J15's.

Lioning is a test platform, the interesting point the expert said is that in rough seas Lioning is not yet tested.

1st, where did you pull those facts out of?
2nd, bigger doesn't mean better.
3rd, Liaoning is a junkyard floating on water unready and incapable of facing the stress of rough waters that is the reason why they so deceivingly call it a "test platform".
4th, J-15 an unready, untried plane against a battle ready Mig-29K.
