Whats status of ukrainian counter offensive ? Heard they are gaining lot of ground.
Probably not yet begun. The ground is still not suitable for large scale tank operations. not hardened enough, lots of waters. That says Germany’s army general staff.
Ukraine army gaining ground in Bakhmut thru a surprise attack by Asow regiment. Russia’s 72th mechanized brigade running away in panic, leaving lots of dead and wounded behind. That’s confirmed by Prigozhin and Ukraine 3rd brigade.

.
Here's the thing though, the Russians still aren't jamming properly, and if this is the best they can do then they're in real trouble.

We have news that the Ukrainians managed to launch local counter offensives successfully along the no man's zone, especially in Bakhmut, pushing Russian forces back quite a bit.

The over all offensive will start soon, probably within weeks. The window won't close because the Russians don't have the current resources to actually take advantage of delays. The Ukrainians are waiting for the ground conditions to become better, as mud is still an issue for their tanks and transport vehicles.
Last rain in the area is on the 2nd of May, ground hardened up within 14 to 21 days after rain, so you are looking at that timeframe for counter attack.

Czhech republic delivers 2 batteries of Kub missiles. Their specialty: providing air coverage for tanks.
Will be interesting to see where Ukraine tanks will try to break thru. The front line is 1,300 km. Russia has built massive defense walls, multiple layers deep, at some point 30 km deep behind the front. However there are big gaps between in the walls.

The Russians can anticipate that and they are prepared.
It would be a bloody massacre.

That is itself a surprise blow to russians

Don't recall the unit name but they most definitely had been seen in Ukraine for a while now
On the vid footage I posted earlier the leopards 2 were seen on rails with Ukraine’s 47th tank brigade. Looks they moving into positions.

It's one thing to anticipate something, it's another to be able to do something about it.

I don't think I need to tell you what you and I can think of the Russia most certainly already did, in fact, that is true for all counter offensive or any military operation throughout history. That's one thing we can expect something to happen. Do you have enough to deal with or how you are going to deal with that is the million dollar question here.

So at the end of the day we need to look at the facts on the ground, you have 1200km front facing off between Russia and Ukraine. Both side cannot completely defend that 1200km front, because even if you have 2 million soldier and have them hold the line literally hand in hand, you are talking about a spacing of 50 centimeters per soldier and that's not going to be enough to hold anything. Let alone Russia don't have 2 million soldiers, they only have at best 300,000 (that's the number we knew) And even if I tell you the most reasonable route of offense is to cut south and divide the entire Russian line into 2, there are still 2 issue here, whether or not you can cope with the speed of the advance, and whether or not you can repel the initial advance. Because operation like this, the opening move is important, but that's the easy part, the second phase, or the breakout phase is probably going to make or break your offensive or your enemy defence, and that depends on 2 things.

1.) How Ukraine execute this attack
2.) How Russia react to this attack

As I always said, probably the 5th time now, I don't know if the Ukrainian is going to be able to pull this off, because I don't know about 1. They could be all but pulling retarded move because they are not used to Western Combine arms warfare, but the 2nd things were never in doubt, if Ukraine did manage to pull off a by-the-book combine arms assault, then Russia, based on what we seen in last 15 month of war, is most likely not capable to fend off this attack, I mean, unless they pull something out of their arse and suddenly becoming a professional force in this attack alone. That's highly unlikely this would happen...

From what I'm getting more people are putting the timing to May 10th to 15th, somewhere around there for the counter offensive to officially kick off.

The grounds good, but weather conditions are still rough.

kub , how much you bet the system is as shitty as it can be, and czhec republic just wanted to get rid of them.

It is more commonly known as SA-6 and would be problematic to handle unless professional SEAD missions were used to neutralize them. The Russian Air Force is not excelling here.
It was used to decimate the Israeli Air Force during the early parts of the October War. That was 50 years ago, so there may be an age problem.

the Russian air-force SEAD is non existence . still the SA-6 can easily be jammed by any flanker that worth its shit aka Su-27 and newer and any other modern aircraft of 1990 and after. the system can easily get hunted by lancet if they bring it near front line , they had shitty performance even since 1978, at the time they decimated shittier A-4 skyhawks

The system is good enough to give protection to Ukraine tanks. Give the system new western electronics then voila…you get refreshed modern air defense.
The Russians use old Soviet stocks, little from Putin’s new Russia. Using old Soviet weapons against old Soviet weapons is good. Russia’s lonely T34 tank on victory parade even came from Kharkiv, from today’s Ukraine.

It depends on multiple factors. The optimal ground condition would be after 15 (if there are no more rain in the area) but they can pull it as long as it is hard enough to support the track.

Czech is mulling a donation of their L-159 subsonic jet, they are like FA-50 but less advnanced.

That would be good for second stage or the break thru phase of this counter offensive, given if they can fly that outright,
