I agree. I would also like to add that if Russia limited its goals to the Donbass region from the very beginning, instead of trying to conquer all of Ukraine, Russia would have likely won and the world would have moved on by now.

Russia's ambitions were greater than Russia'a military capabilities.

Second best military? They aren't even the second best in this war, that would be Wagner who holds that title. Russia shouldn't even be in the top 5.

1. Germany merged Austria on 13 March 1938. France and The Great British Empire had NOT lifted a finger to interfere. It's a great geopolitical achievement of Hitler.
2. Then Germany took the Sudetenland in Munich Agreement which were signed by Germany, United Kingdom, France and Italy.
3. Then Germany occupied the rest of Czechoslovakia, and half of Poland.
4. BOOM WW2

1. Russia took part of Georgia, nothing happened.
2. Russia took Crimea. Sanctions
3. Russia took Donbass region. Sanctions.
4. Russia tried to take the whole Ukraine, or at least half of it.
5. WW3?

So far, the war is limited to East of Ukraine and South of Ukraine only. Who knows what will happen in the next couple of years.

In case you don’t know. Lots of people in Swiss, Austria, Lichtenstein, Belgium, Luxemburg and France even in US speak German language. Nobody can use a language as justification for a brutal invasion. The world is not a jungle where you can run around killing peoples because they speak the same language.

The Ukraine panzer company was moving into attack however early detected by a Russia surveillance drone. At the point the Ukraine commander should either stop the column or call in close air support. He failed to do that. The result is a massacre. The tanks standing close to each other because Ukraine tank commanders trying to avoid the mines. Those mines were laid very dense. That’s something Ukraine will learn and correct the mistakes. War is back and forth. No problem.
