A report of New York Times. The US urged Ukraine not to kill Russia’s number 1 general Gerassimov when he visited the front. Out of fear of escalation of the war. However Ukraine went ahead with assassination plan. Many were killed however Gerassimov survived.
Russia since then reduced front visits by top generals.
