The meeting's been postponed and will be happening on the 10th of this month, the minister probably wanted an update on the status of the Vikramaditya before facing up to the scathing questions that he would be facing in India

India and Russia has a history and India being its biggest market for arms makes it very Important for Russia but it has lost many new contracts to west, which is not a good sign and Russia has to make up for its losses by finding new markets , second Russia don't want US in its back yard but India do.

Russia have much more projects in hand ever in history...

and in past,india already had western inventory of weapons like mirages n jaguars and other stuff...so nothing is history..

But the US was and is already in our backyard via Pakistan and lately Bangladesh...if all goes to plan.
