Russia pushes for Su-35 in a bid to lure Bangladesh Air Force

Yeah but I think they already operate FM90

Aster-15 is VLS SAM and have better capability to defend ships and land targets.

Pakistan also operate FM-90s but still have interest in Short range advance SAMs.

Which means if India attacks Pakistan Pakistan cannot send its best fighter to attack Indian formations inside India. What's the use of such aircraft?
Also ask him how that is freedom to use a product you already OWN.

Thats not what foreign govts see when they look at Russian airforce's performance in Syria. But yes, in terms of aerospace technology on paper, Russia isnt the most advanced.

Hm....China that cant even field quality civilian aircraft yet? I just find it confusing that you are supporting purchasing CHinese fighter jet and saying no to Russian fighter jet. I dont believe China is currently making fighter jets as quality or/and advanced or/and reliable as Russian fighter jets.

We have had experience of Russian and Chinese jets.... whilst the latter is lower tech than russians have given better performance.

I suppose on that basis we feel that chinese jets which are all copies may actually.provide best value for money.

It is a very complicated situation... China will sanction BD in a conflict with India.
Why would China do this when China currently sees India as the main regional rival? sanctioning BD would help India, China's main rival.

China has taken a confrontational attitude towards Bangladesh all over some investments in burma. Chinas economic relationship with india is much greater. Logics dictate that china will support india over Bangladesh in any confrontation.

BD must pursue its national interest and this dictates a pivot away from china as fast as possible

We all think that way, but China's recent policies of selling military hardware including JF-17 to Myanmar has upset the disparity between Myanmar and Bangladesh greatly. I, and many other Bengali members would love for Bangladesh to purchase the J-10, and other Chinese weapons to enhance the role of Bangladesh as a deterrent against whoever may harm it. We will have to see what happens in the future, but I hope for Bangladesh to enhance ties with China and Pakistan.

There is a subtle/hidden point you're making(or so i think)- China doesnt like Muslim countries close to it and this is why i believe it supported MM govt against Rohingyas. For this reason , i think its reasonable for BD,as a majority Muslim country, to be skeptical about deeper military ties with China. Just saying...

Truth be told, China is one step ahead to assess its threats. China's present military and economic power makes it direct competitor to west. Clash with China and West is inevitable. Not necessary ww3 type situation but it will take burn where it hurts. But China is doing something right, which still kept itself intact. Muslims are necessarily not west's enemy but socialists communists. West has attacked the Muslims countries where socialists taken over and Russia also taken burn. Latest socialist victim is Syria. In these cases we see Muslim groups are utilized by west to attack these socialists. If China is not to take any dent like those, it has to take care of its Muslim population. Similarly they have taken steps through its minnow MM to save its backyard by taking steps on Rohingyas.
