About technical cooperation, he said talks were under way for supply of helicopters to Pakistan for its counter terrorism activities and a proposal to build a gas pipeline from Karachi to Lahore among other things. - RUSSIAN Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Y. Dedov

If this project really goes ahead, it will be a huge deal for Pakistan's energy and industrial market as this pipeline will also connect the Iran, Pakistan gas pipeline from Nawabshah which is being built with Chinese cooperation. It also means that when China wants to extend IPP to China, they would only have to connect it from Lahore connecting, Islamabad & Peshawar along the way.

On a more serious not this looks like Pakistan will import Iranian gas? I would imagine Pakistan gets is gas from the gulf states?

first of all.. LPG, CNG, Furnace oil etc aren't used just for electricity but also for heat source in industry, for domestic purposes etc. I am not into oil and gas transportation field but i think new lines are required for bulk/massive transport... not only for us (and new industries) but may be for china. So old ones, aren't enough for demand...

We need these Pipelines, gas and also several Sources for our development and production purpose also, But not on the cost of our Billions will be spend relentlessly and benefit these Puppet Politicians to fill their pockets, for spending a billion dollar on a project where same thing can be done in millions...Have to rectify the chances of corruption and making Billions of dollars cut in these kinda projects...
What if same can be done by same Iranian Company who laid Iranian Side's pipeline very fast , and would be cheaper than what China and Russia are Making...

Good but Pakistan needs dams to solve water shortage problem created unnecessarily by corrupt politicians (who are not going to make a single dam), water storage & energy problem.
