if UAE buys the plane without the assembly line by faith in MbR will erase.
Just once, my wish come true.
A russian jet, produced on european precision machinery, from Germany and Switzerland !
Not the SU-35, it is the most modern Russian 4th++ generation fighter, so the assembly line is out of question.. the numbers to be procured play a big role too, and since the UAE intends on buying not more than a maximum of 60 to replace its Mirage 2000-9s, it confirms that no assembly line will be transferred, but the UAE SU-35s will be unique somehow and tailor made with the best Russian and if integration isd possible Western technologies..
However, the lightweight 5th generation JV between Russia and the UAE will be produced in the UAE, most likely with a western based assembly line with European precision machinery and robotics from Germany, Switzerland or even Japan.. these jets are projected to be made in large numbers to fulfil the need of the whole middle east.. and as we all know, it is the biggest arms procurement region overall.. the Russians will participate in the design, R&D and some proven 5th generation materials, components, electronics, avionics and so on, while the engines might be European or American.. The UAE will contribute with financing the big part of the project, some high tech (they are even selling advanced UAVs to Russia as of now), the design, the integration of Western tech and finally with establishing a very modern production line to make make the project come to fruition and produce a light weight 5th generation fighter that will be second to none..
Following are some possible configuration of the the new UAE/Russian LW 5th Generation fighter, but most probably it will be a new design with some characteristics from these preliminary concepts:
It is not yet decided if it will have a single or twin engine design..
