Russia had hand in China’s Type 054 frigate: Russian media

Not lucky..
They had good governance since the 80s while we were worshiping the Gandhi family.
True but If there was no America to shift it's manufacturing units to China the industrial modernisation would have never took off at this phase. My assumption is that with new gov't in India more leaning towards US sure we can expect a repeat of 1960-1999 of china in the next 30 years or so.

But US learnt their lessons of the past so they will be cautious about helping to make their high tech goods. But it's too late for now as we already took over China on servicing sector . It's high time we push for industrialisation . Hope we won't follow Chinese. They spoiled their soil and polluted their air. Now nearly some 20-25% of Chinese agricultural soil are poisoned not fit for agriculture. Now they importing rice from japenese and selling their downgrades to countries like pakistan Africa and north Korea with fancy printed covers :)

Stupid article, it talks about the type 056 frigate. If the writer knew a thing about what he was talking about he would know that the type 056 is a corvette and there are no type 056 frigates. The next frigate from china is expected to be called the type 057.

Man, you are brilliant.

So we need to build 40 as well. Are you saying we are incapable of this ?
I never said so..what I meant was today if you have cash you can do whatever you want!..Chinese pay the Russians hard cash to get whatever they need!

Nothing new most of the chinese weapons developed has the Russian help.

Well, to start with America is not one individual and shifting of manufacturing is not a govt. decision.

It was more efficient/cheaper to produce in China so companies sourced from there.

Same issue with the tech services being sourced from India. Our relations, good or bad with the U.S. have little bearing.

We need to make it more efficient for companies to source from India and for that governance is important. Not just centre but mainly state. In the Indian federal system state CMs have more control over development in states (eg roads, power, education etc.)

We have to get there ourselves. No one is going to help!

ahahahhahahahahah..........LMAO . With friends like Russia who needs ennemy? Im sure the many Chinese members here who are very pro Moscow and think Russia is their so called 'friend' will not be happy with these Propaganda news coming out from Moscow these days, since we sanctioned Moscow, seems their media is going more paranoid/hysterical day by day. LMAO. This is just the beginning.:) ,
Me who thought all Chinas weapons were indegenious unlike other countries like Japan who import stuffs from the west/U.S.:cheesy:

Gosh! When USSR collapsed, so many Russians and Ukrainians Engineers and scientists left their country and work for money all over the world including even South Korea and Singapore. Why didn't India hire a few?

Heck the Ukrainians sold almost everything to China for a pittance. The China paid only 20million for the Varyag including the blueprints. Each of Varyag 4 engines itself cost 20million each. Then they sold the blueprints for the J-15. They even sold the plans for their aircraft carrier training center. They even sold the blue prints for the Ulyanovsk the first of a class of never-completed Soviet nuclear-powered supercarriers

The price was 5m and nobody was interested. Varyag was sold as shell without engines. Whenever or whatever China is interested to buy, price goes up...Everybody knows that you can make good money by trade with Chinese.

I am not a ship building expert. But when you build a ship, you build it around the engines. Once the hull of a ship is sealed, you really cannot replace the engine or put a new one in.

Actually how China bought the Varyag was much more complicated than it seems.

When China first approached Ukraine to buy the Varyag the original price was only 1.8million to be used as a floating casino.
BUT when China asked for the Blueprints, Ukraine realized that the casino was just a front. They refuse to sell the blueprints and stated if you want the blueprints it will cost you another 2million thinking that would be too high a price. But to their surprise, China agreed to the additional 2million.

Then the Ukrainians realized that they may be selling too low. Despite having agreed and being a done deal, they canceled the deal and told China that they wanted a open bid.
So Japan, Korea and US enter the fray. But China still bid the highest at 20million. So China got the Varyag and its blueprint for 20million dollars.

As for the engines we now know. Its the best kept secret.

Xu said the vessel's four Soviet-era motors were intact and "perfectly grease-sealed" at the time, contradicting reports that the sale was for little more than a hull and superstructure. "The Chinese side deliberately released false information about the removal of the engines to make it easier for Xu and the shipyard to negotiate," the paper quoted a source familiar with the deal as saying.
