Russia finalizes S-400 missile system deal with Turkey

Then Turkey really should resign from NATO to get the full control of the defense apparatus. They can then enjoy total power. What is holding them back from doing it ?

Current NATO infrastructures, weapons and NATO doctrines. Needs time at least 10 years.

Basically because benefits overwhelmingly weight over possible losses and gains.

The West need Turkey too.
"Turkey is an extremely important partner for NATO, since it allows [the alliance] to strike at Russia from the south,". Czech military analyst Martin. He also added "This is an indisputable fact, otherwise this Muslim country simply would not have been in NATO. After all, it is alien to the alliance both by its geographical position and by its national composition."

Sputnik (formerly The Voice of Russia and RIA Novosti) is a news agency, news websites and radio broadcast service established by the Russian government-controlled news agency Rossiya Segodnya. "Czech military analyst" might also know that his country entered to NATO with the consent of Turkey as well which is one of most active members of the pact for over 66 years.

What part of the statement made by the Czech analyst is incorrect ? I know who runs Sputnik.

A vast majority of main battle tanks used by Czech Republic is Soviet-made. So are the armored forces of Poland and Baltic states of NATO. A large portion of air defense systems in use by Greek military is the very S-300 itself.
Reminder: All these states are too members of NATO.

If the political atmosphere was completely different in Turkey by all means possible. We would still not be a member of EU but we would be in NATO anyways, due to our conventional capabilities and geographic position. Also, what most foreign nationals fail to realize is that westernization efforts did not start with the republic. It is the fruits of centuries lasting efforts during late-Ottoman times.

You do not dispute the fact that Russia is the primary adversary of NATO and Turkish soil will be used to launch attack on Russia from south by NATO if situation requires that as long as Turkey remains a NATO signatory.

There will be no attack to Russia from Turkish soil. All offensive troops are concentrated in the Baltics , Czech and Hungary. The troops cumulated in Bulgaria and Romania almost 60000 are a threat against Turkey. These troops are located near Turkish border. The PKK/YPG TERROR Army almost 50000 personel US equipped with ATGM, Manpads, Artillery and IFVs is against Turkey too.

lt won't be operational until 2021, that's a bit late.

Dont worry. If a war is at the door Russia promised probably to deliver them immediate or they did already delivered one for tests and training together. The infrastructure and training needs one 1 year. We will get them earlier than other customers. Who will possibly attack us except tbe States or Israel ?

Greece and Syria are possible threats. We know in what unpredictable state we are with Greece due to the provocations from both side and we also know the unpredictable behavior of Assad. With such neighbours we must be ready as soon as possible and the biggest gap is long range air defense system. Even if the possible hostile situations will not lead to major warfare we must be capable of projecting force, defend our airspace and secure the security of our land assets. Its one thing when you have to bring F16s to every air threat that is not in the range in our medium/low range air defense systems and its another when you put the S400 in the possible critical area. For example Wikipedia says (Yes I know its not the best source) that Greece have around 90 Scalp EG cruise missiles and we must be able to tackle that threat. Even if we dont get the 40N6 400km missiles and instead the 250km ones its a game changer. Also we have Iran in our east and even if the possibility is very low for a major confrontation with Iran we also must have them in our possible threats list with all their ballistic missiles. We know that if we dont get them fast we will be able to tackle the most of the threats but we will have much more casualties and the outcome will not be as successful as it would be with the S400.

The longest range missile Turkey gets have a range of 380km. It is told by top official mouth during conversations.

Hey buddy

I have no idea where are your facts coming from and in which universe Iran is going to attack Turkey, or maybe it's vise versa. Please enlighten me, why would you suppose that Iran and Syria are Turkey's enemies???

What has Syria done to Turkey after all??? It's a big question in my mind. Before NATO infiltration in Syria through Turkey, we had this situation :

Erdogan did everything possible to topple Assad's legitimate government. Don't you think that west is abusing Turkey to destroy all of us???

1- he mentioned that the possibility of open confrontation with Iran is very low. Dont twist his words.
2- Dont misunderstand, it may look like Iran is getting away with dedtabilizing the region, but one day it will come back to it. Not just Turkey, not just the middle east, but also the entire world will make Iran answer.
3- Assad is a guy who killed 1 million of his people. I dont know a universe where that is legitimate. Please note that this is a matter of perspective, and we (the world) have been discussing this for a decade now. So I wont discuss this with you. I am not arguing with you, I am just giving you our perspective of things.
