I do not think that your knowledge about USSR correspond to reality. The USSR was a leader in the protection of human rights, when in America they do not let Negroes in public transport. The Soviet Union was the greatest state in the history of mankind, which was ahead of time for centuries. Sooner or later, mankind will return to socialism. New socialism will be built taking into account the mistakes of the USSR.In USSR there was even restricted internal immigration policy when it was about non Ethnic Russians. People from Central Asian and Far East Republics were never allowed to travel the Western USSR.
Regarding Latvians, there are very cautious after Georgian and recently Ukrainian problem. There was even language row over this in Latvia because even in Latvia there are large numbers of Russian speakers.
This is what i am saying that Ex SSR republics are afraid about it
This will be the biggest issue between the Ukrainian and Russian Federation for many years.
USSR is history and it wont be revive and Russian Federation for sure is trying to revive it and trying that Ex SSR republics return back under the Russian Federation influence but EU and NATO are more stronger economically but neither Russian Federation nor the Ex SSR republics nor NATO wants full scale war.
Georgia , Ukraine have putted all the Ex SSR republics on alert and even paved way for them to not only join EU but even be part of NATO .
In the USSR was some internal migration, but only voluntary. Work and housing were provided for every region. For Central Asians did not make sense to move to Latvia. USSR spent a tonns of money on Uzbek or Latvian writers and scholars. Huge research institutions were engaged in the problems of language, literature, culture of the peoples of the USSR.
You should know one thing - it does not matter to us what thinks the West or its Kiev puppet on this occasion. It only matters that our struggle is absolutely legitimate from the point of view of history. New Russia was formed as a Russian land and it remained so all the time. We just go back home.
In yellow highlighted area of Little Russia, when she was reunited with Russia in 1654. The rest of the territory of modern Ukraine - a conquest of the Russian Tsars and the Bolsheviks.
I do not see anything wrong with that Russian land are fighting for their sacred right to be a part of Russia.
