Rumors/Tweet: PTI thinking to make Karachi a federal city/territory

. . .
Karachivaal and the rest of the country needs local city govts with a complete control over every admin department except the police and higher education. Otherwise these xenophobic tendencies will make sure that any region made a province based on ethnic divisions will further split Karachi into many. For example if urban sindh somehow parts way with the rural sindh then theres no guarantee that bangalis and biharis will not feel left alone and deprived at the hands of urdu speakers.

The power oughta be decentralized at any cost if we want a decent life style for all of us. Now for starters every big city must atleast have two to three city mayors taking care of a moderate amount of electorate

. .
With Sindhdesh picking up steam , this will just aggravate the situation by giving succor to these militants' narrative of theft of land and such. Maybe these rumors are to analyze public opinion in Sindh. If this really happens, it would be great - Karachi will be transformed. The amount of skilled people there is immense, if the institutions there are made meritocratic the fruits of that will be reaped by whole of Pakistan. I hear the institutions there are divided ethnically, one ethnicity undermining the other - they haven't started killing each other yet, thank god it has descended that far. Islamabad is a model "neutral" city. People don't care about if their neighbor is Punjabi/Pathan/Urdu Speaker/Sindhi/Balochi.. I am basically from Hazara division, and i engage in my daily life with everyone but Hazarawals, there is not an ounce of ethnic bullshit Karachi has. Thank God.

Why does Islamabad work with its diverse population? There aren't ghettos of each ethnicity here. Even after the locals who have sold their land to Gov. and moved to the periphery, while most people in Islamabad are outsiders - there is no animosity like Sindhis have for Karachiites. I think the problem is ethnic politics, having mayors for each ethnicity at the same time is not really a solution.

I never asked to turn every pak metropolis into Lebanon but to divide them on admin basis like dividing developed and under developed areas so those deserving get more attention . Otherwise if it's a smearing it in your face contest then declare urban sindh or any region of Pakistan for that matter a separate province. Besides as for the animosity among various ethnic stake holders of Karachi, daikh lyna yeh apas m b lry gy, musalman hain - - -.

Karachi was geographically always part of Baluchistan..not Sindh

.
Make Karachi federal territory and give permanent residency to all illegal Bengali, Burmese, Nepalis and Afghans living in Karachi. This will allow them to become a tax payers and contribute to the economy.

. .
As if the feudal parties will ever allow it - they will make the establishment sweat in their pants regarding its position and this talk will go nowhere.

Karachi is now PPP’s trashheap to own and cut meat out of. But don’t worry, vote PPP ka par Khal sirf DHA ki.

I just hope it is being seriously worked upon with all backing of powers relevant in Pakistan.

It should be done in a way that PPP can't be able to play Sindh card to save her incompetence.

No need to declare openly or make any drum/baja as this will be considered non serious...

See the recent arrival of FWO/Army in Karachi...Did Imran make any noise on that? He just made a surprise move and called in army...Making noises before doing an act means you are fooling people....

Surprise moves are what make you look more credible/serious and left your opponent red faced....Just need to see recent saga.

So, Don't make noise...No need to even DECLARE. Just take over - one by one - while in stealth mode.

A SILENT TAKE OVER....

Prayers for Imran Khan.

It should be and it's a nice move.

Can they do this without the provincial assembly / government consent. What does the constitution say?

Does it strengthen federation or weaken it?
