Roketsan starts producing jet projectiles for Azerbaijani Armed Forces

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov. Turkey’s ROKETSAN company has started preparations basing on the orders received from Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Director General of ROKETSAN Huseyn Baysak told APA.

Baysak said they started producing jet projectiles ordered by Azerbaijani Armed Forces, the first party of the products will be delivered to Azerbaijan late in 2011, early in 2012.

“At the same time, we continue meetings on joint production with the Ministry of Defense Industry. The first principled protocol of understanding was signed within the framework of IDEX in Abu Dhabi. Activities are being continued to sign the relevant contract and I think that we will sign this contract within this year,” Baysak underlined.

Director General said together with the Ministry of Defense Industry they will also produce rocket launchers similar to Sakarya multiple-rocket launchers.
“Our discussions are being continued. I think it will be possible soon,” he said.

Baysak added that ROKETSAN will produce engines of 107mm and 122mm missiles that will be produced jointly with Azerbaijan. They will be placed in moulds produced by the Ministry of Defense Industry.
