Actually the article was posted before the congress agreed to sell Paveway 4 to the KSA. The issue was not with A2G capability but rather with having the associated weapon, namely stand off missiles and to a less degree Loockheed Martin Sniper pods, which is replaced by Thales pods built under licence in Saudi Arabia. Standoff missile capability has always been the mole in American air-force related arms contacts, not only to Saudi Arabia but also to all ME countries except Israel.@BLACKEAGLE
They will come with the Tranche III. As earlier blocks have limited A2G capability, they will be upgraded later.
Wonderful news. I am very impressed by the recent changes and developments. I will need to talk with my cousin who works in the airforce to hear more details and maybe to receive some "inside" news. For sure if people still think about the military of KSA as the one that existed during the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's then they must think again. Very seriously.
