Rigging in 21 constituencies established: sources

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) got proves of riggings in 21 constituencies of National and provincial assemblies, sources said citing a performance report of election tribunals.

According to the sources, the ECP has prepared a report regarding 18-month performance of election tribunals which would be presented to newly-elected Chief election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan.

According to the sources the report pointed out systematic rigging in 15 constituencies and partial rigging in 6 constituencies.

The election tribunals declared null and void elections in 15 constituencies.

The sources said that 8 candidates of ruling PML-N, 2 candidates of each PPP, PTI, and independent candidates, while one candidate of JUI-F were elected in the affected constituencies. -Samaa

Not to mention PML won the most seats, hence they're bound to have more eyes after them. It's also funny how he uses red color to show about PML rigging but not PTI, which claims to be an all saint party.

Let's see, PTI wins some 100 seats (prov and national) and PML wins some 500 seats. For every 100 seats, there are 2 mentioned. In this case, PML is less rigged than PTI, as they end up with 8 seats vs 10.

Now ECP got proofs of rigging in 21 constituencies, if it happens in any other democratic country they would definately have re-elections. This election was fake re-elections should held ASAP. I bet that not only 21 constituencies there are many others full of rigging and IK demand is simple that there was rigging in elections which every political party accepts than why not re-elections? This report is just the tip of an iceberg, if a thorough investigation is done under a impartial team, i am sure the whole system will be exposed and rigging will be established in a lot more constituencies.

I completely agree with you, there's lot of rigging in General Elections 2013. Even our Interior Minister says there are 70-80,000 votes that can't be verified in every constituency than why not re-elections? It is proved that whole elections was full of rigging.

They are not saying only 21 seats out of 342 were rigged. They are saying 21 seats out of those that have been examined were rigged.
Now, how many seats have been examined so far by the ECP? Maybe....21?
The sample of seats examined shows a very high rate of rigging took place.
It's time to examine them all. People should not hide behind stay orders.

As a matter of fact what OP's post also says is that the report is based on the 18 month performance of the election tribunals which are the only forum for contesting electoral disputes, and therefore in all likelihood, there are only 21 such election petitions relating to 21 such constituencies where rigging appears to be a possibility.

The rest are, most probably, scot-free. All the more reason to celebrate? Yes.
