ISLAMABAD: Investigations into California shooting have led to a shocking revelation that the female suspected shooter identified as Tashfeen Malik was in contact with Islamabad’s Laal Masjid, sources quoted a senior United States (US) official as saying.

ARY News senior correspondent Amir Ghouri on Friday quoted his sources as saying that a senior US official today called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in London and conveyed him a message from US President Barack Obama.

“Tashfeen was in contact with Islamabad’s Laal Masjid,” US official told, according to sources. “Investigation officials have found Malik’s pictures in which she can be seen with Laal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz.”

Tashfeen Malik, 27, and her American husband, Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, were killed in a shootout with police on Wednesday, hours after the mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, in which 14 people died.
