I disagree.

At $32 billion the indian defense budget is 10th largest in the world and approximately 5 times the size of Pakistani budget.

By 2022 when all 126 mmrca are delivered the INDIAN GDP & DEFENSE BUDGET will be nearer the 6TH LARGEST as by then based on GDP growth rates last 5-10 years and various assessments India will have surpassed the economies of both france & uk.

MONEY IS NOT THE ISSUE with MMRCA.

ITS what political favours India wins. TECH TRANSFER,, and wat fits best with the IAF future fighter mix/balance.

Personally i think the TOP 3 are Typhoon Rafael & F18SH.

Any of these will give IAF a lethel fleet of over 350+ mmrca./su30mki combo.

THATS SUM FIREPOWER/TECHNOLOGY.

and they have one of the hottest climate in the world.
IAF AJT crashed twice in to different air shows the wheel burst out and the canopy opened during landing. lol
and guess what. PAF personals operate UAE and KSA front line fighters such as F-15 F-16 and EF-2000.

Hello buddy what u mean by PAF personals operate UAE and KSA front line fighters like F-15 and EF typhoon? Are ur PAF personals planning to hijack them and bring them in pakistan? PAF operates it while IAF will operate it and 'Have it'.

The problem is, the it's not simply one company and one country! The EF consortium are 4 different countries and more or less 3 different companies and you will hear things from different sides.
The latest report for Germany for example says, that the german president will come to India in the next month with an offer of full ToT and no EUM.
EADS has stated before that they are ready to offer much ToT and wants India to produce the avionics for all EFs, which means India will be a minor partner in production.

Apart from this, one need only to google and calculate a bit to get a guess if EF is affordable, or not.

On 17 September 2007 Saudi Arabia confirmed it had signed a GB£4.43 billion contract for 72 aircraft.

That's US$7,14 billion in todays transfer rates and would mean a unit cost of around $99 million each. So even if you take that unit cost for the 126 fighters that IAF wants at least and don't reduce it because of way higher numbers, the whole MMRCA tender would cost $12,5 billions.
It was stated several times before, that the competiton could cost between $10 - 12 billions, that means in these high numbers EF would fit easily in the budget of MoD, if they really want it.

F 18 was here some unconfirmed report says that it worked well in Bangalore but struggled in hot conditions of Rajasthan and was not good in Leh......

I think it makes total political sense to go ahead with typhoon as we can see lot of government to government deal with US so there companies are happy they will not poke around for this if they loose. MiG is happy as they have got IN as customer with MiG29K and some more orders for MKI are expected (not 100% sure about this). France will be happy as we can buy some extra scorpenes (the contract has option for 6 more) which leaves Europeans only without any major order hence typhoon fits in the budget also there is nothing real political mileage can be achieved from Swedes so they loose out

But we dont need to order F 16/18 to get an option on F 35 anymore.. We can go with Typhoon(if all this is not just smoke) and get F 35 as and when it gets productionized.
