What's new

Return of the native: GT Road it is

People go for food and money, I think the same people from Imran's Jalsa go to NS's.

Then their children should be snatched from them and groomed without their influence ........ there is no other way to get rid of this.

Lol Hameray paisa jo bhejain Pakistan, woh halal, pur hamara vote haram? Most western nations allow their expat citizens to vote in their national elections. What's wrong with it?

There is no harm or wrong in it. It is just the rule is based on that people on the ground are more aware of the situation than sitting miles away.

And Pakistanis appreciate the foreign exchange you bring in. We owe you guys alot and cannot thank enough.

But somebody sitting in Chester would have zero connection with somebody looking at Layyah and its problems.

This was introduced as a short term measure which i support.

i am not surprised i knew it we have tons of illiterate, corrupt & incompetence people in Pakistan.

Unfortunately too many in Pakistan, they cant distinguish between right and wrong, as in the case of Godfather who has looted and plundered the country's national wealth for his personal family gains.

.
Overseas Pakistanis are not allowed to vote. It is a good initiative just like any dual national should not be allowed nor those who are working abroad should not be allowed in the parliament.
Disagree with you. We spend our whole lives away from our loved ones in Pakistan, not visiting a lot of times just so we can save money and send it back to Pakistan. We send $4.6B in remittances every year and we are respected by not having the right to vote? We are probably the most patriotic as well; after living your whole life out of your country, you start to love it and want to go back and live there.
Don't blame us for Pakistan's mess but blame the politicians. It's their fault that we have to go out of our country to earn because there's not enough jobs in the country.
OVERSEAS PAKISTANI'S SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO VOTE!

you can give a person knowledge, but you cant make them think. some people want to remain fools, only because the truth required change.

No harm in allowing OSPs to vote ..... in fact they should never have been denied this right.

However, one serious question how many of OSPs would be sending us poor Pakistanis free money suppose if all of your family were settled abroad?

The OSPs trying to base their argument on ...... oh we send remittances to our families ...... is ridiculous .....

No the point of remittances are not stupid. If our leaders were so successful in their jobs then there would be enough jobs going by and secondly why do we send cash back? Because there are not enough savings from what ever jobs our extended family do in Pakistan...

One should never judge - my personal opinion
You never fail to make my day. :victory:

This isn't the 50s or 60s anymore though that overseas Pakistanis are not aware of what happens in Pakistan. Most Pakistanis visit every few months, we have relatives there we talk to, we even have Pakistani politicians visiting here every so often to get chanda. Some people I know visit Pakistan every year for two months, many of us have second houses, businesses etc there. How can we not know what's going on there if we are directly still dealing with stuff there?

We know exactly what's going on there. There are media outlets and dozens of channels broadcasting out of Pakistan on top of the points mentioned above. Maybe in the past this law made sense, but it just doesn't do so anymore.

Pakistan has enough wealth and resource to support double its population if these are distributed fairly and on merit.
Everybody knows that.
The problem lies in the systematic oppression of the people by the feudal lords and clergymen. They killed Liaquat Ali Khan just for that purpose alone when he touted the land reforms.
The problem is not post partition but the history of the region which is older than time itself if you believe IVC theorists.

My point is not to mock you or be ungrateful or doubt your patriotism ........... just a plain reality that you being an OSP are not doing something out of love for Pakistan or Pakistanis only........... you are doing it because of your own needs ........... please don't insult this by throwing it at us as a winning argument. And next time just remember this while you are away ........ all your university going cousins, siblings, your retired father, your mother, your relatives, and almost everyone who is using a cellphone in Pakistan is paying Income tax to government of Pakistan ........ forget the indirect taxes. So sending remittance is not your strongest hold ......... being a true Pakistani and presenting a positive image in a foreign land and people is your edge over us.

I'm just saying we don't want to live outside of Pakistan but we have to due to income shortages, yes due to rich having in the billions and poor having less than double digits.

I know what you mean.
Practicality is not one of our best traits i give you that but trust me this was introduced as a precautionary measure and will be removed when the time is right.
You may have to be a little more patient.
