Residents of Islamabad Will Now Have to Pay a Cleaning Tax

Lmao y'all don't have a garbage collection tax? Everyone pays here for garbage and recycling

. .
Here in UK we pay £70 and above per household for our trash being picked up.
Plus we have to seperte the trash in 3-4 bins.
Paper, plastic bottles + metal and non recyclable.
Any large items such as fridges or furniture or even a bucket, has to be brought to the council's trash centre by our own means.
Council won't empty our bins if the bins are not out of our house by 7am on the collection day.
Council won't empty the bin if the intended trash isn't there. For example some plastic bags are in the paper bin, council won't empty it.
Plus they only empty each bin every two weeks
Considering all they 4000 per house per month sounds like ultra cheap.

.
Good.
Charge all shops in bazaars as well. But clean the city

Is already clean?

Why is it that only Islamabad need cleaning ?

Another proof that clueless idiots are running affairs in Pakistan.

No two houses generate same amount of trash. it would be very unfair to charge same amount to every house.

Focus should have been on reducing garbage, not exploiting the habit of garbage generation, into any opportunity to extort more money from an over taxed nation.
Besides, If people have to pay for every thing, than they shall also have freedom to hire people of their own choice.

Rules of developed nations are not applicable, because they rely too much on their system of education and trust in it's people.

@Uncle
Regardless of how much trash any one generates
If some one has to come to collect it then it they have to pay it.

As for rules of developed nations not being applicable.
Some one has to start applying them for the brains of people to develop?
Or you wanna keep them to the monkey level?

They need to put fines on littering. 10,000 fine for every peace thrown and 20,000 for littering through cars while driving. And enforce it through noting cars numbers and stopping them on check points or when these people go to renew their ID's.

I literally get pissed when I see a jahil dumbshit driving a big car but showing is jahilana pan by throwing stuff on the road.

In UK council also sponsor houses, for those who show no income in their tax returns.
Council tax is used to maintain streets, parks, schools and other social services.
In Pakistan property tax is equivalent to the council tax of UK.

How often is property tax charged in Pakistan? And how much for a 1 Kanal house in any particular city?

I don't know the current rates, but Property tax in Pakistan is never the same, always increasing.
It's also a shame, that people can't get basic information from web. everything works with bribe and rates of bribes have been x4 ever since new regime.
Besides property tax, people pay metropolitan taxes, and society charges, which amount to 20-50 USD/month.

BTW, In UK they use yards not kanals as unit of area measurement. Do you know the conversion constant?

.
Don’t most of them have trash dumpsters?
yes there are dumpsters but in very few numbers .the shopkeepers not only throw trash on roads but some stupid shopkeepers also put trash on fire in the center of road

Nothing is free. Its included in property tax that house owners, buildings pay every year.
Here in Sweden, this facility is provided free of cost by the commune because they know how to use the trash. It is in fact a valuable raw material for recycling, district heating, and bio fuel.
But we as citizens, sort all our trash in categories
  1. colored glass
  2. glass
  3. soft plastic
  4. hard plastic
  5. biodegradable material
  6. Packing material
  7. magazines and newspaper
  8. metal (cans etc)
  9. household trash (burnable material)
  10. Batteries, Cells
  11. Electric bulbs. tube lights etc

So we do the hardwork but then the communes ensures it to regularly take away the trash and empty the bins.

And it does not end here, for all medical refuse like syringes, needles, medicine (expired) or throw away stuff like bandages etc, we are provided special plastic bags from the nearest medical store and we have to leave that refuse there. This keeps the society disease free and hence less stress on people and govt.

As I said it is an input for them so definitely they make money from it or at least they break even. Furthermore, people are doing the hard work of sorting the items and make it easier for the machines the process and sort further...But I'm not sure how it in Canada.

Oh goodness, that is definitely not good.

They should be fined or something.
