Inland water transport, coupled with extensive use of seaplane and convertible air transport for short-haul express cargo is the future to connect our hinterlands with the main cities.

As of today, eastern and southern India have the maximum concentration of national waterways as per the government data.

It will also be important for the government authorities to educate local tribals and fishermen that their livelihood will not be affected, especially after the Kerala debacle where local fishermen started protesting seaplane business and the state government had to close it down.
