Renewable Energy in Turkey

if you charged the neighborhood where electricity theft occurs, the problem would sort itself out.

People who pay would go and have a word with people who don't.
I have thought about this too, but thought cutting the electricity off completely would be a better punishment.

As far as I remember the company did try something but Diyabakir municipality (if I remember correctly) interfered and the company was forced to continue delivering without getting paid.

Now you can't just cut the electricity because you'd punish people who're paying. You need to dedicate ressources and find ways to locate the illegal tapping so you can get rid of it.

I have watched some riots of farmers against the idea of having to pay for the electricity they use. And that made my blood boil. They openly said it on cameras. It happened in Sanliurfa too.

They can say whatever they want. Just persecute them. Also transformer stations need regular maintenance, malfunctioning happens and long downtime also happens. Those who can complain are only those who're paying for it. the illegal ones would just reveal themselves. and be target for persecution.

Politicans scare to losing vote, so they let it be. o_O They will keep ignoring the issue until we the people who pays the bills of those who don't rise up, but without judgment victory, that won't have any meaning since even law courts ignored this issue.

Why it is so easy in Turkey to steal electricity?

cables are above ground and one way of stealing is use a metal hanger for shirts, wrap some wire around it, and throw it on electric cables.

I am not sure the cables above ground are "isolated".

They accept criminal behavior, as far as they bring them votes?

Exactly. It used to be land theft when people were just building shacks over government property. Government would turn a blind eye to that and a few years later they would just give them the land.

Rule of law? what's that? We need votes god dammit.

Well, that is the easiest way of stealing electricity. trying to "hack" the transformer is more difficult and if you mess up, your whole neighborhood might lose electricity.

I am not sure if we still have bad cable anymore, but I've seen that something like in Philippines.

Sorry, it's just that if we want renewable energy in Turkey, it's requires the subscribers to pay for what they use. stealing electricity isn't good if we want to attract investors. Even the companies managing the supply lines will be hardpresset.

Here in Denmark it's not the electricity that costs a fortune it's the supply lines. If I pay 100 USD quarterly at least 50-60% of the cost is to the transportation and related costs.

example on a bill from Denmark.

forstaa_din_regning_cirkeldiagram.png

1% subscription delivering company
20% VAT
39% taxes
12% electricity
6 % subscription company grid
12% transport of electricity
10% PSO (public taxes etc.)

How does an equivalent for Turkey look like.

I hope Elon Musk developes a battery that can store up for a whole year energy consumption.

I don't know where should i post.Turkey does nothing about gas in Mediterranean ....I swear Turkey will regret for what will happen in near future. They are doing nothing just talking shit.. F.ck the foreign policy of turkey ...Just focusing in syria ?!!! or the ottoman dream ?!!....As i said before Turkish energy minister is very unsuccessful...
What happening now ?? Egypt is trying to make a deal with all Mediterranean countries to get their gas and create huge hub and sell Liquefied gas to EU !!
This was one of the turkish target ! What turkey did ? nothing.just a bad relation with egypt, isreal, syria and cyprus. !
