On 17th December of this year, Turkish windmills provided nearly 10% of Turkey's electricity use, creating enough energy to cover 9 million residences needs. That's a new record!

Finally, a huge and sepical "Thank you!" goes out to Russia from all Turkish environmentalists:
Tensions with Russia make Turkey’s clean energy transition timelier than ever

We have so much potential when it come to renewable energy. There government needs to push harder for domestic wind turbines and photovoltaic technology.

Diversifying our the suppliers of gas or oil is not the way to independence.

This is also interesting: A 100 percent greener outlook for cities in Turkey

Our potential is very high in renewable energy
We can use water
Wind energy
Sun -
Thermal energy

Wind energy we should not generate only energy we should compress air the air in ground for example old salt mines.. Then we can use the compressed air to generate electricity why is there no one with ideas and potential

Energy from water we have already good projects... Everything is on its way..

Solar energy, here in germany they use it you can see it on the roof of many houses.... Some time ago in winter I visited my hometown in turkey we had - 20 C - it was very cold but I recognized that the sun was much higher than in germany and the color of light was much more yellow (in germany) we had more sun but the air was just cold.. So even in anatolia there is more efficient sun than in germany.. If the germans use solar energy then we should have much more

Also we need many different types of sun energy eg concentrated solar energy like the big ones in Spain and USA.. Also solar thermal energy should be used much more

In some areas we could use thermal energy too

There are some simple things that we could use to heat up in winter and cool down in summer

you gotta be realistic. wind will not replace Russia nat gas or Qatar nat gas right now or even 20 years from now

In this particular case, you're wrong. Turkey generates 50 percent of its electricity from Russian gas. More renewable energy -> less gas imports in the future.

Despite all the recent developments , the cost of solar energy system is still much higher than other sources. Contrary to what is thought by Green Activists , the nuclear energy is much cheaper and cleaner if not most .

Nuclear power is our only solution to the increasing demand.

In short, solar electricity in Germany will cost almost five times more for every kilowatt hour of electricity it provides than Finland's new nuclear plant.”

Nope.

Turkey should keep investing in nuclear power plants (1st priority) and renewable energies (2nd priority) to become energy independent. It would save Turkey billions of dollars in the long run as it will no longer have to import oil and gas from abroad.

Turkey should always be producing more energy than it requires---so there's ample energy available for growth and industrialization.

Interesting Paper, worth reading.

Looks like we're totally underutilizing our biggest Ressource the sun. Even if it is still more expensive.
Actually, the Solar sector is now rising due to new legislation.

Turkey's changing power markets - Bloomberg New Energy Finance

Interesting Paper from Bloomberg, analysing the forecasts and plans of the Government. They also compare prices for different means including fuel costs and how they influence the current account deficit.

Bloomberg believes that the Government is overestimating the energy demand as countries use less energy the richer they get because they tend to grow in the service sector as opposed to the producing sector which is using a lot more energy.

One thing we seem to completely ignore is efficiency. We are still losing 15 percent of our energy due to inefficieny in the grid.
Also energy efficient building seems to be ignored completely. Like energy inefficient light bulbs should be taken off the market like in the European Union.

Seems like solar energy is not subsidized on purpose because of the huge coal reserves we have and the Government plans to utilize with around 80 planed power plants. Thus big investments for solar energy will be seen in a later stage, 2030+

Yeah not but if you compress air and use this than you can store energy..

Also we need to produce hydrogen from water we could use the wind and solar energy for this.. This would help us to make us more independent

We need this beauty:

but better we build not only one of this better to build a cluster of this maybe 4 or eight of this beauties in one place

And if we would build them everywhere where we have the most sunny days then we would produce so much green energy..

Imagine 30 of this all over turkey I belive we could get the technology for this
