I do understand that, the only problem is that these manufactures can control their toys only on a local basis.. US ones in the US only for example.. The real problem for jets with data links my friend come from powerful jammers of EW/ECM suites..look for the US most recent Electronic pods or the one(s) being worked on, to get some insight on what I consider the real problem for Data Links or any other electronic, communication and cyber links..Every major country I know of is trying to secure these Links first and foremost..

With satellites too .. I guess ..and as I said in my previous posts before, it is a possibility..

Everyone is talking about kill switch as if it will disable totally the system like in an explosion or by switching engine or by a load shedding.... But it could be simply a degraded mode ofthe sensors of a missile or radar, or a slight degeaded mode in th turn rate of few milliseconds which could give enemy an advantage in combat, it could be anything else... But for sure a mix of everything and totally random in time and space.... And of course activated on their will...

Nobody will be able to blame US systems, and USA will ge the job done...

Why Israel replace the avionics of the US made jet by their own ? Because they know it.

Controlling at local level could be only for low tech gadgets, but could be controlled and manipulated through satellite comm links, and with USA's global domination of internet and Sat Links, USA can connect to anything it desires. Locked / unlocked modules, Powered up or no (Backup battery) any device could be manipulated from anywhere with having backdoor / Trojans..... other thing is being unable to lock on to intruders which are programmed as friend...etc...

It is quite a possibility..But satellites are not that godly as it might seem.. everything might be subject to jamming or ECM .. The main problem to assess these possibilities is found in the fact that there has been no war between different countries who use the US tech or between one of those countries and the US..a fact that encourages thinking about kill switches..but does not prove them..
And for the opposite view.. Egypt and Iraq would be good examples of the non-existence of such devices, because both have F-16s missing long range BVR and other advanced electronic components, or Egypt in another case where it could only get a tiny number of Harpoon missiles without land attack capabilities.. The question that arises then.. is why the US would deny anyone from getting such weapons if it had the capability to incapacitate them !?
