That's not true. If there is a true patriot of Pakistan that is honest, competent and hardworking I would want him to become President/PM of Pakistan over someone like Zardari!

The law is wrong and implemented by short-sighted archaic minded people.

For a is a true patriot of Pakistan that is honest, competent and hardworking to reach the highest post of the nation is mission impossible. The same rule applies in India also.

.
Here is my conclusion.

Its an unwritten law of the land that most nations follow. Thats why u wont find any non christian in the highest position in any of the Europe or US governments.

When 96% of Pakistanis are Muslims , its quite natural that the highest post will be reserved for a person from that religious community.

What is your say of India having as much of Muslims ( in fact 14% compared to 2-3 % Hindus in Pakistan) here and out of 14 prime minister (highest political position in India) does nt have a single Muslim in it.

Please dont counter with muslim presidents and all. we all know we see them on tv on repulblic day only.

We actually had Abdul Rehman Antulay as the chief minister of Maharashtra in the past.

Similarly there had been some Christan CM of the state of Kerela or in north eastern state.

We had have Muslims ,Christan ,Sikhs as Union home minster, defense minister, foreign minister ...u name it,at regular intervals .

We have a PM who too is from a very minority Sikh religion of two CR strength from over a billion population of India.

Dude, we are talking about the highest post in the country in regard to a Muslim holding the post.

Everybody knows people from all religions have or had chief ministers from their community.

The Rediff Interview/Rana Bhagwandas, acting chief justice of Pakistan

'The law is equal for everyone in Pakistan'

'The law is equal for everyone in Pakistan'

Rana Bhagwandas for president or prime minister.

Rana Bhagwandas is now working as the Chairman of Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan. He is heading the interview panel for the selection of the Federal Civil Servants 2009.
PS: We had Justice A R Cornelius, who was the chief justice of Pakistan for eight long years, from 1960 to 1968.

Man, I felt Zakir Naik was a good person, who respects other religious sentiments too. Disgusting video.

Oh no he is a very educated English speaking ,but still a rabid mullah of wahabi strain of Islam.

As usual, in your hurry to sound liberal, you missed the whole point.

It is natural for a country to have the premiers from amongst the majority of community, particularly if such community is in overwhelming majority, like Muslims in Pakistan, Hindus in India etc. It is however another thing to institutionalize discrimination.

Nothing, except that India doesn't prevent a minority non-Hindu from becoming a Prime Minister.

The issue here is not why there were no Muslim PMs in the past. The issue is if the State of India prevents a minority from being one.

Btw, M.M.Singh is from a minority community. Why is it that there has to be a Muslim PM to prove India's multiculturalism?

Please dont counter with muslim presidents and all. we all know we see them on tv on repulblic day only.
And why shouldn't I counter with Muslim presidents, not that I'm going to. Doesn't the fact that there are presidents from minority community prove that there is no constitutional restriction on anybody from holding any post in India?

Pakistan doesn't even accept a non-Muslim in an office of prominence (all specified in Third schedule) unless he publicly claims to be a Muslim. Hows that for your liberalism.

On a lighter note. we have allowed a Pakistani born person to hold the highest office.

There is no inherent opposition or constitutional obstacle for Indian Muslim to become the Prime minister of India.

If a Sikh can become PM of India ,why cant be Muslim if he manage to secure the support of enough numbers of MPs in the parliament.

First , the opinions reflected in the videos posted are short sighted , fundamental and bound to lead to conflict and inequality .

That being said , Pakistan is 96 % Muslim . The minorities are simply not in significant numbers to hasten the govt policy in matters of reforms for better representation in various public services and cause major upsets for primier political parties in elections by supporting a different political thought or by having their own political representatives . Majority of Hindus are concentrated in few impoverished districts of Sind , others are too thinly spread across the length and breadth of the country .

The present day India was 13 % Muslim prior to partition of British India , what was left after it and recorded in 1951 census was 10 % Muslim .
The present day Pak was almost 20 % Non-Muslim ( Western wing )and we know what was left by 1951 . The country came into existence, as was 'CLAIMED', for safeguarding Muslim interests , I suppose the presence of significant number of Non-Muslim subjects was perceived as a hindrance towards safeguarding the interests of the majority . One can explain the exodus from Punjab but what explains sharp fall in number of Non-muslims in Sind and NWFP after 1947

That's more than what is expected of zardari. Proves there is a harsher criteria for others. :)

You are an Idiot Raghu...... (sorry in advance)

Do you know when is the deathy penalty given to apostate?

If there is any Non-Muslim living in Islamic Republic that is 100% Fine.......... No problem with it.... They enjoy the equal rights as per Muslims........but when there is a Non-Muslim who converts himself to Islam and leave his religion again and convert into something else.............. thats where Islam has a problem........... either give total submission to God with 0 lack of tolerance and doubt of belief in your mind - or Just don't convert unless you are willing to totally submit yourself to God......

Converting, then changing again is considered like a traiter in Islam and we all know what Punishment is usually given to the traiters

No one can be punished for his/her beliefs. Period. Any religion that does that is not fit for human consumption and deserves a place in the dustbin of history.
